While he felt some sort of guilt it wasn't stupidity, ever since he got the gist of life, there had been a clear boundary between guilt and being stupid.
From, the clothing of this world and even from the way they ran their errands, the constructions of their buildings, and the type of furniture, he could guess that this was nothing like his earth style.
The thought of no smartphones, TV, or any other electrical devices or even a radio, made him almost cry, he could already imagine how difficult this type of living was going to be for him.
The house they had just walked out from, resembled an ancient middle ages farmhouse but an improved version of it, yet it had bushes and was mostly made from grey bricks and rocks, with wooden rooftops.
At this moment, he was in the arms of christy which was his new mother, while she walks through the frontage of the house she would sometimes say a few things to him.
Little did she know, the little fella wasn't even paying attention to what she was saying, even though they resembled words to him, he need not pay attention to it as he stared at his status screen. Floating mid-air, in front of him.
It was a strange thing seeing a black screen, following him around, but his curiosity over it made him care less about the puppy screen. His life was normally filled with boredom as he had no friends, not even in his University days back on earth because they mostly lead one into trouble.
He was a lonely child, all he cared about in his previous world was his mother and sister, apart from them it was usually work which would last day and night.
While he looked at it, he noticed the minor changes in his status screen, most especially in his age, and exp points as well as a minor increase in level. They seemed to be recording his daily life activities, with a continuous reset mostly with his age, all this made him feel apprehensive about what surprise the system might give him next with the Transmigration starter pack.
He spent a few moments staring at the black screen, before redirecting his gaze to where Christy was walking to. While walking around the house, she would continuously whisper a few words to him.
Though he didn't pay attention much to what she was saying, some things she said gave him a basic idea of what was happening around them and how the village was constructed.
Their farmhouse was a bit far away from the main central part of the village.
The inner circle of the village wasn't explained, she only mentioned that it was dangerous compared to where they lived, so he should be wary of it.
The outer circle of the village was composed of wild uncultivated lands, which were more like a forest. While she would whisper a few words to him, she only said them respectively and what they could consist of.
At the moment, they were outside their house but then she suddenly stopped walking, Christy noticed something and slowly shifted her eyes downward.
'What's going on?'
For someone who had gone through, variety of stress for the past few days, all she wanted was to relieve herself of some stress.
However, the abnormal behavior of her son left her baffled, While Tobi was previously lost in his thought, he suddenly felt subtle a nausea feeling that slowly spread a pain that he could never imagine, the burst of pain quickly took over his whole body awakening him from his thoughts.
'What happening to me?' He thought in a bit of daze and bewilderment.
Then he noticed, he was beginning to slowly gasp for air which Christy was able to take note of immediately, as both fear and panic appeared on her face.
The pain got worse and worse until she realized he was becoming cold and pale by the second. The painful sensation was making both Tobi and Christy frightened, although for completely different reasons.
For Tobi, it meant, he was losing control over his body and probably didn't know what was happening to him. That proves to him that it was something likely dangerous.
For Christy, it meant there was a high chance her baby's life might be in danger, which was likely the reason behind his current condition. Though she didn't know what was happening to her son, she quickly turned around as she ran back home after realizing this.
Her screaming voice could be everywhere, the moment she rushed inside the house.
Soon Tobi started to puke out lumps of black, upon seeing this the entire family felt as though their world was crumbling, every second made Christy feel a deep sense of regret, she felt even more fear and regret with the thought of her being the cause of it.
A sticky substance that looked like thick hair soup but smelled like something that was rotted for weeks under the summer heat, was vomited by Tobi
With every ounce that came out, the strain he felt was akin to having barfed out a large chunk of rotten meat that was stuck to his throat. Even though the stench was so bad, no one cared about it.
While the girls were already crying, Christy and Christopher's thoughts were all over the place, as they were both left incapacitated. The only medical expertize was the midwife, however, her place was pretty far away from their house, even if they took the mull cart it would take too much time to get to her, even if they got there they couldn't imagine how bad their son's condition would have become.
This was one of the reasons that made them, quite helpless. So they could only pray for a miracle to happen at this point.
The more she thought the more helpless she became, she didn't know what to do anymore, she would have loved to feed him some herbal soup but she was also afraid something else might just happen again.
