It was a world where Werewolves and Vampires had to learn to coexist; ever since their existence, there were wars to declare who was the better species. There are indifferences, this world would always face a battle if there were indifferences, and there was always bloodshed during the war. Many lives were lost during the conflict between the Werewolves and Vampires, with no real purpose behind the battle. Both the species were after power and authority to showcase their superiority after whoever won the war. The history of deadly wars was never going to be forgotten, just as love was transferred from one generation to another within the ancestors of their kind, the same way Werewolves and Vampires carried down their hatred generation after generation.
Although history carried the hatred, time was their dearest friend. Time eventually fixed things as it always does; they formed a forgivable bond over time, but the hate was never wholly removed from their hearts. They still hated each other, but even if they hated, they accepted that they must coexist. War, battles, and constant fighting was never going to solve the sole problem, which was their tainted soul's desire to control over the other species.
Amy was born in the Victorian country, which was probably the most peaceful country in the whole world. Victorian named this country after the Victorian family, the first-ever family from 200 years ago to have consisted of both werewolves and vampires. Victorian was the name of a werewolf who fell in love with a vampire, and his family rules this country because only his family knows to love everyone equally. This country gained a lot of popularity and was the glimmer of hope for the world to accept each other finally. Of course, many rebels existed in this country and spread hate, but the peace inside this country was unmatched by any other country worldwide. It was a country that converted their hatred into something creative and competitive nature which would, in the end, help the country out economically and would bring forth the best of talents out of both werewolves and vampires. Werewolves and Vampires contributed to the overall development of this country, although the world had not seen another werewolf and vampire falling in love in 200 years.
In a week, Victorian Cup was going to commence, and as ever, Inkford was working hard, but Amy was taking the rest necessary for her to recover. "Hey, Amy, what are you standing here and thinking about, and are you recovering well?" Amy lost in her thought of her encounter with Mats Humming, the captain of Eclipse University. She wanted to share her experience with her teammates as all her teammates had a significant other or a crush, but Amy never experienced it firsthand. She couldn't tell her teammates because it was a vampire, and it happened to be the captain of the University of their biggest rivals. "Oh, it was nothing Clara, I was thinking about the tournament and how far we've come. We can't lose this no matter what."
"Haha, Captain, you're always so focused when it comes to football, do you ever not think about it?"
"I'm sorry, but it's all I think about."
Football indeed is what Amy always thought about, but now her day would begin, and nights would end with the thoughts of her instant crush.
"Alright, our coach has asked everyone to assemble as she has something important to announce."
"I received a letter from the Victorian Count; it has our schedule and will be playing in our first game a week from now. Let me open it up to announce our first fixture and who we'll be up against in our first and other matches."
"In our first two matches, we'll be facing Eclipse and Nocturnal University. Our final game will be against Bamword University I hope our spirits are high after the win against Faith we have come so far we must fight for everything in this tournament. I hope you are recovering well and taking an ample amount of rest because this time around, I will not tolerate your foolishness to come in the match all injured. You cannot do it every game; it was our day, and this can't be happening every time, so I hope you respect my words and take a rest."
As we were edging closer to the tournament, Amy went to physiotherapy every day to recover from her injury as fast as possible to be back in training before the tournament began as there was no way she was missing a single game. Amy thrived under pressure, and against the best, you would see the best version of her. Besides playing against the best and thriving under pressure, Amy was looking forward to playing against someone she admired for the first time. There was no way she would accept a loss after such a confident conversation with him, and her pride was at stake.
"Feels good to be back on the pitch finally, doesn't it captain? Thank you for saving us from a mess; never had I dreamed of becoming so much better and our team winning and competing for trophies. Now that I know this feeling and I'm aware of this feeling, I can't stop myself from wanting more awards. We can't stop here now you've made all of us addicted to football, which isn't a bad thing at all." Sophie, the defender of Inkford, was full of praise for Amy, and rightfully so.
"Yes, it does feel good to be back, although the tournament starts tomorrow, and I got only one day to train before it starts. It makes me feel a little bit nervous because I have trained relatively less than all the other team players and our team, but at least I'm back, and it's all that matters. Thank you! My job as a captain is to ensure everyone is as motivated and hungry as I am for victory."
It was tournament day, and the teams had arrived at the destination where the event would take place, as they prepared themselves for the event's opening ceremony. A famous singer was in charge of conducting the opening ceremony of the tournament. Meanwhile, the teams which are going to play the first game were warming up and getting ready to enter the field of play once the ceremony had ended.
"Thank you for giving me this opportunity to perform in this famous tournament and to express my gratitude, and I'll be the announcer for today's matches. Up next, we have our first game, which is going to be Inkford University versus Eclipse University. The long-lost rivals have finally found a platform to share the stage—Eclipse University has been defending the title for five years. Against the rivals who have finally found their way back up to the throne, they fell off ten years ago."
As they enter the field and begin to exchange handshakes, Amy's eyes were focused on Mats, the captain of Eclipse University. Amy felt strange for some reason as his eyes also were on Amy, to Amy's surprise.
"So we're finally here, huh? It doesn't feel like we're going to lose today at all. Are you feeling alright to play? Because I don't want to beat someone who is not 100%, they'd have a reason to blame it on the injury that they couldn't perform and what not reasons. I hate people who just whin after a defeat; it's a sign that they cannot accept the natural order of life."
Mats Humming began to provoke her and tease her. He was an admirer of her, so he wanted to have a friendly banter by exchanging a few words with Amy.
"Thank you for your concern, but my injury is all fine now. It would be a pity for your University to lose against us without me. I'm here to make it less embarrassing for your team by being here and beating you. You're talking about hating like we already don't hate each other enough, don't we? We're here to win the tournament, and I don't see anything stopping us from doing so; your team is just going to be the biggest hurdle that we come across in this competition. At least I have that much respect for your team. It takes something special to win it five times in a row, doesn't it? And it takes something special to beat that team as well, and we are unique enough to beat you." Amy responded to his provoking in a confident manner and with the utmost respect to her opponent.
"What do you mean by at least I have respect? I have my respect for my opponents as well, that's why we have won five times. In these five years of winning continuously, I haven't come across a captain as confident and attractive as you. That's why I have decided that we will beat you today and win the tournament six times."
