"Ezra, isn't that your mother?" asked one of the men gathered in the coffee shop.
The man named Ezra turned his head. He is Amanda's half-brother. The unemployed man whose work only spends money on unimportant things. He was gaunt, his wavy hair styled in disarray. Every night he spent time hanging out with his friends.
Ezra squinted to find his mother making a nervous call to someone across the street. Two minutes later, he walked briskly south. Ezra was curious about what made his mother look so panicked.
"I'll go first," Ezra said to his friends.
"Why? Would you like your mother to change your diaper?" joked one of his friends, making the people in the place laugh at Ezra.
Ezra glared at his friend. "Shut up!" he snapped and walked out of the coffee shop ignoring the ridicule of his friends.
