Chapter 1 - Dhara and Her Dreams

When I saw her, I couldn't understand. I was nonplussed that what is she doing here? I mean at this Red-light area. I still couldn't believe that she is here. What happened to her that she was here?

I wanted to meet her and discuss whatever was going on. My mind was in a dilemma about what to do or what not.

The aim of her life was only to achieve her goals and her goal was to become a journalist. How far has she gone? She didn't think even a bit about herself or her family. I mean her mother because there was no relative of her. Her family was only her mother. Sid, you should go and meet her. Come on, I said to myself.

She was a happy-go-lucky girl. She had found happiness in even a small thing. That was she, Dhara. My Dhara. My inspiration, my life, everything of mine.

When I got admission in Delhi University. It was like a dream came true. I was feeling like heaven and butterflies in my stomach when I checked my email, I was bouncing off in merriment.

Initially, I met her at the campus. It was my first day and was also hers. I was going to my class through the corridor and she was also coming through there from the opposite direction. We bumped into each other on the very first day and fell down on the floor.

She started laughing and her eyes were sprinkling. Sorry, sorry, and she tried to stop herself from laughing but she couldn't. I was being mesmerized. By her wet smile.

Hello! myself Dhara, as she raised her hand towards me.

Hi! myself Sid, ahh...…...Siddharth…...I introduced myself to her. And she went ahead.

I carried my bag on my back and went to class. My section was A and hers was section B.

So you were thinking about how our story would go ahead. But that says, if the universe wants to match up two different people then destiny begins to work on their behalf.

Sir, sir, you want something, as somebody did a voice to me and I came back from my ocean of memories. I turned, saw a woman behind me. Her eyes were bigger with a lot of antimony in them and face was thick, she was chewing betel. Her voice was rigorous and she was looking vicious. Her hairdos were in a bun. Her cleavage was showing from her blouse. As she came close to me waving hands and winking at me. I think she is the mistress of this filthy place. And my guess was correct.

Sir, what do you want? she chuckled.

We have so many kinds of flowers. Each one is better than the others.

No, I want her and I showed her Dhara's picture from my phone.

Yes, yes. We have her. Sharmeela, Sharmeela, as she called her assistant and Showed her photo. Only a Jeweller can recognize the brightness of diamond. She is a mind-blowing dancer and mesmerizes anyone by her mudras. It's her first time meeting a client. And then she asked me for money. I gave her a handful of Rupees.

Sharmeela took me to her. Amrapali, Amrapali. See, today a handsome blonde-screwed boy has come to you. Give pleasure to him and she went with a smile.

I entered the room. Dhara.....I gave her a voice.

As she turned up and froze.

You…...here? She screamed.

Thank God at least you know me. What are you doing here, Dhara? At this filthy place?

Dhara, who Dhara?

I'm Amrapali.

Amrapali?

Yes, Amrapali, a dancer.

If you are Amrapali then why did you scream to seeing me? I asked.

She had no answer but in the next moment, she did overcome her reminiscences and said, you have had some misunderstandings.

Why are you pretending? I came close to her.

See, do not come to me, else I'll call somebody...

Why? It's your work to fulfill your client's desires and give them happiness. And today I'm your client and I gave a bribe to your "Madam" for all this.

What? Are you kidding? She was astonished.

No, I'm serious. At this night you are mine, as I placed my hand on her shoulder.

But she jerked my hand. Siddharth, stay away!

Have you gone mad?

Please go, this place is not for yours. It's nasty, ditchy, filthy and muddy.

If this is not for me then it shouldn't be also for you. Why are you here?

Because, because I AM A CALL GIRL, she said in a hoarse voice.

What? I was shocked. It seemed like I was going to faint.

Sid…...Sid, sit. She helped me to sit on her bed. She brought a tumbler of water for me, and I drank the water in one go. But I didn't feel relieved. I asked her for the washroom, I used the loo and splashed my face with water. As I stepped out of the washroom, I saw Dhara was sitting on the ground....sobbing and taking hiccups.... her face hiding in her knees.

I rushed to her and took her face in my hands and wiped off her tears. I did console her. Then she again started sobbing, resting her head on my shoulder. I comforted her by patting her on the back.

Her face became wet by tears flowing through her eyes. Her flower gajra was scattered everywhere.

When she calmed down, she started talking about her life henceforth.

And whatever she told me was flabbergasted.

I was so happy when I got admission in Delhi University. It seems that my dreams will come true now. And when I met you, I felt delighted in my life. My life was being flourished with your togetherness. But who knows, when, what and how life takes a U-turn. It happened to me.

It was our last day on the campus. We were so happy and dreaming about our next step. You and I wanted to be a journalist. You became a Journalist but see where I'm.

When I was coming back home. I saw something fishy. My mother was also a....Saying that she stopped for quite some-time. I gave her a tumbler, she drank water and started again.

Actually, my mother was also a prostitute. But she never wanted me to drag into this filthy place. All she wanted me to protect from it. When she got to know about the dangerous plan of Rajia, "so called Madam". She wanted me to send some other place. She was packing my stuff but couldn't save me. Because they got to know about my leaving, they were welcoming me to my home.

Who are they, Maa? I asked.

Hi! myself Rajia, as she raised her hand towards me.

But I jerked her hand.

Oh! What an attitude! Customers will like you! And then she called some goons. They came and grabbed my arms and dragged me into a car. They closed my eyes with a piece of cloth. I couldn't see anything. Even before I could shout, they filled a piece of cloth in my mouth.

And they dragged me here, at this filthy place. It happened in the blink of an eye and no time to even react to what's going on with me.

Once Rajia visited my house and I was getting ready for our cultural programme. There she saw me. Her eyes became widened with astonishment by my features, my body. My mother requested her to leave me but my beauty was in her sight.

So see, I'm here, she said in a wry smile. But how did you come here, Sid? Are you want some chic....

No, no, don't get me wrong. I'm a journalist. I have come up here to cover a story. My colleague and I wanted to bust the gang. Who is behind this?

Madamji.

Madamji?

Yes, she's behind all this. All her motive is only to earn money. She lives in Dubai.

This filth should be closed soon. They are spreading such impurity. Don't know how many girls would have been victims of her oppressor, Sid said with a firm.

But for this I need your help.

But...…

Don't worry, Dhara, nothing will happen to me. And I'm not alone, the police are also with us.

Police…...Police also come here, laughed Dhara.

What? shocked Siddharth.

Yes, you heard right, Siddharth.

Before anyone comes here please go from here, Sid. Now, it is my destiny.

No....it's not your destiny, Dhara. You forgot your aim. And your aim is to be a great journalist. Not for just showing off, your aim is to help others, giving them their rights. You've done so many struggles and your struggle couldn't be wasted.

Don't you want that these filthy places should be closed and many girls like you should be saved from this hell. Tell me, Dhara.

You are right, Sid. Yes, and she stood up with confidence and wiped off tears. For some time I had forgotten the aim of my life. Now it's the time to wake up and fight against filth.

Now there was a sparkle in her eyes. Of victory, of aim, of motivation, of love, Of save all girls from here.

Dhara and Sidhharth somehow manage to save themselves and got out of that place.

Now, she's come up to Sidhharth's apartment.

You are my life, Dhara, saying this Siddharth hugs her. You know what, Dhara, I searched you everywhere. I had lost hope that ever I could meet you.

But see, my love, I found you. Now never ever leave me. I can't live without.

Even I can't live without you, Siddharth. I love you so much, said Dhara.

Siddharth smiled. Dhara.....he said in a husky voice.

He then lift her face in his hand. Her eyes were closed because she knew what's happening next so she didn't protest. He can see so much expressions on her face. He smiled and kissed her passionately. She also did. She left herself in his arms. It was a divine moment for them. They were feeling the wetness of their lips.

Now they were kissing each other in such a way as if they are waiting for this moment. And it was right also, because they met after a long time. Their sighs getting louder as anyone could hear.

They didn't know how much time passed. It was Dhara who first move apart from him.

Sid.....I'm so exhausted, wanna sleep.

Okay.

Birds are chirping who indicating that It's been Morning.

Good Morning, Dhara, as Sid entered her room with two cuppa Coffee.

Good Morning, Sid, as she gets up spreading her arms.

Now, what do you think? she asked while having her coffee.

Ours' marriage, laughed Sid.

Idiot!! I'm saying about those girls.

I know, I know. I've managed.

How? Surprised Dhara.

Then he tells her about the plan.

It's so risky.

I know there's lot of risk in it. But do we have any option.

And I'll also come, said Dhara with a firm.

No, Dhara, I can't put you in trouble.

You know, Sid, I know the secret door from where we can enter. I had lived there so I'm well aware of that place. I wanna take risk. If anything happens to me in the process of saving the lives of those girls, then I have no regrets. And what am I afraid of when you are with me.

Tell me, Sid.

Okay, okay, you win, I lose.

According to plan, they entered from the secret door. But they were not alone. Siddharth's some colleagues and friends were also with them.

Some of his friends came as customers so that they can entangle Rajia and her assistants in their talking and here Dhara and Sid can be able to save girls.

But one of Rajia's goon looked them to sneak inside.

Hey, as he ran behind them, Dhara knocked him down. He got fainted.

Wow!! Amazing!! Bravo!! my lady. Sid praised her.

Okay....Okay.....let's go, praise later. First do that for which we've come here.

Dhara didi, one of the girl gave her a voice.

Mitthu...Dhara ran to her and hugged her.

Mitthu started crying.

What happened Mitthu? asked Dhara.

They beat me up. Sobbed Mitthu

What? Dhara got shocked.

Mitthu is just 15 years old girl whose father sold her Rajia just only for money. Dhara has always saved her from evil eyes.

Actually when they came to me I didn't open the door. I did that what you've told me to do.

Now everything will be fine, Mitthu, I've come. Dhara consoled her.

There Sidhharth's friends kept Rajia and her companions entangled in their talks and here Dhara, Sidhharth and some of his colleagues succeeded to save all girls.

Next day, Dhara and Sidhharth's sting operating was in headlines. On the previous night they had uploaded the whole video on YouTube channel. Both of them did hard work to manage all the clips in the studio.

The advantage of uploading the video on YouTube was that the police immediately swung into action.

Dhara and Sidhharth, both were quite happy.

Now it had became their mission to help needy people.

After some years,

Dhara opened an NGO where Siddharth and she used to help poor kids, orphan girls and women (whose husbands left them).

To educate them and gave them job so that they can be independent.

Dhara's journey had been started. Her dream came true to be a Journalist.
