The city, which previously enjoyed serene and peaceful days, immediately turned chaotic due to the devastation caused by the rebel army.
They were the real savages. They had lost all of their sanity, only one remained in their minds - they would die soon.
So before they died, they had to satisfy their lusts which they had not yet got before.
They began to satisfy their damned lusts. They robbed property even though they knew they would not use it because they were going to die, yet they had been satisfied to watch the golden glow and let the views intoxicate their brains. They also committed obscenity to women. But even though they knew they would die soon, they did not take any consideration to do good. They did not take any consideration about morality anymore, they did not think that they had to cultivate goodness so as to allow them be accepted by Heaven and not fall into Hell instead. They could simply ignore the sobs and painful screams of their victims. They did not care that their actions had tormented other people. Simply because, common sense and morality was not programmed in their brain.
"They are our enemy. The defeated enemy must not be pitied. It is what they have to get as compensation for their crimes. And the pleasure you get is legal since you have managed to eliminate evil."
Because their brains had been full of the understanding that Suo Junhuan echoed incessantly, they became completely convinced of that understanding. They deserved the property they robbed because it had been the residents' penalty, it was their fault because of being loyal to the cruel Ming Government. Women deserve to be molested - no, they did not molest women. Women should be happy and proud to serve them, who had fought so hard against evil! Yes! They were heroes, and the women, instead, must be proud of serving their heroes!
"The part of the city near the fortress is messed up, Your Highness! Our soldiers in armor were losing speed because of the heavy armor they wear, on the contrast, the speed of the rebel army is like a mouse, really fast and unstoppable!"
The reporter's face was pale purplish, full of horror. Zhu Su stomped in frustration. "Damn! We should have expected this! There is no way they can blindly attack whereas they know they are going to lose. This is their strategy, and we don't even think about it!"
Back to his effort to find the antidote, Zhu Su worked in despair. He could no longer ignore the frustration that gripped him in a sudden. Previously he was just convinced that he had solved the problems of the Kaifeng people brilliantly - his big project had been very satisfactorily completed. But his pride was immediately dashed by his enemy's suicidal strategy. Sadly, he looked at Hu Nayin, Liu Ku, and the entire Team of Wellbeing members who were busy finding for antidotes. He had been working very hard at first, but his enthusiasm had subsided now.
He felt that everything he hoped was not allowed by Fate. It must be. He tried so hard to make his project accomplished. He faced every obstacle with optimism. He did not believe in failure. He believed that failure happened only when he stopped fighting. As long as he did not give up, he would not fail. Another obstacle occurred, he would fight it again. Even though he was tired. Even though he had nearly given up so many times. But he still kept grinding. Another problem came again, even though he was tired, he still fought it. Another problem appeared, he still fought it, even though he really wanted to give up. It went on, and on... until his project was finally successful. But now, even when the project had been successful, Fate broke his path of success once again?! And even worse, Fate demanded the sacrifice of the Kaifeng people?!?
His frustration drained his optimism. Nothing positive was in his mind this moment.
Why should he try, since he would only fail in the end?
Why should he try?
If in the end, it was not us who determined our success or failure, but Fate?

Rumilie lowered the binoculars. His lips curved a happy smile. "Junhuan... we finally did it."
Standing beside Rumilie, Suo Junhuan smiled back at him. He was happy not because Rumilie praised him. He was happy, because his determination and perseverance got paid off. Just like his grandfather always promised to him.
Huan Shikang snorted. "It is all because of our teamwork."
"Of course. We have to thank especially the soldiers who are willing to be the death squads."
"Huh! They can also satisfy their pleasure by robbing property and raping women! They get double rewards!"
Suo Junhuan chimed in enthusiastically. "They are holy warriors. They are willing to sacrifice for the downfall of a despotic regime. The pleasure they get is only temporary because they will die soon. If Ming falls, we must give them the noblest reward for their sacrifice."
Huan Shikang snorted again. His thought was not the same as Suo Junhuan's. He was a realist, he denigrated every kind of idealist views. But never mind! The important thing is their idealism can produce good results for me!
The wind blew hard, tossing the hair of the three remaining rebel leaders. Rumilie laughed. "And even more, the King of Wind is on our side. He said, Ming will fall down in a moment!"
He looked heavenward, and then, burst into laughter.
Your Highness Xie Wang... Wan Ya... all of your grudges, will be avenged in a moment!

Rumilie's army could destroy Kaifeng's defense easily. Not only because most of the San Hu Wei led by Yan San caught the disease and could only lie helplessly on the bed, but also because the army's brains had been stimulated to the point of terrifying levels. They no longer fought on consciousness, they fought on lust. Their logic had vanished, replaced by wild instincts. Suo Junhuan's potions magically let the instincts take over their healthy minds. This wild instincts that had reached the pinnacle made them all no longer afraid of death... let alone afraid of death, they did not even think that death existed. They had been totally under the control of those magic speeches, "... destroy Kaifeng... destroy Ming... finish off those who are loyal to Ming because they are our enemies... and you deserve to do everything to them..."
Turning the logical human beings into the lifeless machines who focused solely on destruction - what a terrifying strategy, a strategy that could only be used by those who had lost their sanity. They no longer see their fellows as humans. They had no pity for the soldiers they took advantage of. The soldiers were truly loyal and willing to sacrifice themselves, yet this was how their loyalty was treated in the end. They served themselves to their lords to the extent they were willing to die, and the leaders laughed with joy because of having subordinates who were so loyal to them. They also did not care about the innocent Kaifeng people despite the fact that the people were actually ignorant. Whoever became their leaders, they did not care. All they wanted was a life of peace, prosperity, and happiness. Whoever their leader was, as long as he could bring prosperity for his people, they would approve him happily. They also fully understood that they did not have any power to determine who should become their leader. And towards these kinds of people, Rumilie could destroy them mercilessly just to satisfy his lust for victory.
Not expecting that they would be attacked all of a sudden, the people had no chance to run away. No matter how fast they ran, the rebels were still faster than them. They killed anyone who dared to fight them. Their hard-earned properties were seized by the rebels. They brutally molested the women and did not care even if their despicable acts were watched publicly.
"Insane men! The rebel army is a bunch of insane men!"
That was what the people called the rebels in the end.
