Chapter 125 - THE SORTIE

The soldier grimaced in pain as Zhu Su inserted needles one by one to his wounded back.

"Bear the pain for a while. It will be painful, but it won"t take much time." After that, Zhu Su inserted the needle at the lateral area of the midpoint of the shank bone, then he manipulated the needle.

"Aaaaaa!" The soldier, who was always fierce when fighting on the battlefield now screamed in pain for about a minute.

"Okay, finished!" Pulling all needles out, Zhu Su supported the soldier to stand up.

"Wait... Sir... I can't stand up!... Eh..."

The soldier had stood tall. He was still shaky, but he was far better than before. Zhu Su smiled. "Your problem is not so difficult to heal. After you return home, smear your wound with this concoction." He gave the soldier a herbal concoction. "And tomorrow you will be okay."

"Wow, incredible! Now I can walk..." The soldier hobbled, but his face gleamed with happiness. "Thank you very much, Mr. Physician, thank you very much for healing me! Please excuse me."

"You are far more skillful than one month before, Mr. Zhu."

Like stealth, Myine had appeared all of a sudden before him.

Zhu Su gave a little smile as a reply. Myine looked around, "Your son and Miss Nayin have also been very skillful. You give us much big help."

"We will do our best to help everyone who needs help."

"Wounded people will certainly be cured, but the enemy will attack us again and the cured people will get injured one more time." Myine looked outside the window. "A month has been passed, but it is like that it'll never end."

"Do you say that national defense has risen and the enemy has been stricken off?"

"Yes, but it lasts only a short time. They have gotten the support again. We're oppressed once more..."

Zhu Su bit his lips. As long as humans still maintain their ego and lust to launch aggression and war, then there will always be the victims who get suffered and endure agony. And those victims, are somehow always those who have nothing to do with the war. Like this time, those who suffered first was not the Head of States, but low-class people, while it was the Heads of States who were fighting each other

Was it that would happen if he still obtruded to take revenge and seize the throne?

Gao Qing's advice spoken under the starry night sky previously always echoed in his ears. In the beginning, he was so energetic to be Gao Qing's disciple in order to get some power for returning back to Ming and launching a counterattack. Yet, he did not deny that he often forgot that intention since he enjoyed so much with his activity in Yi. But it was really beyond his expectation. What actually his teacher wanted was - he let go of his desire to ambush.

"Our life is very short. In this very short life, do you still want to waste time just for planning to usurp the throne? And it is also uncertain to be done, considering your current status as well as the location you live right now. In the end, your whole life will be spent on something negative if you still maintain your resentment."

Yes, speaking honestly, he was actually tired of this all. What once felt like as a burning spirit and great enthusiasm, had now changed, into a burden that had weathered. A heavy, tiring burden.

His life was wasted just to carry a burden that might not succeed.

Yes, he was tired. But he could not deny, that memory still often passed through his mind. The moment when he saw the dead body of his wife in prison, it disturbed him so much. Likewise, when he watched his son Zhu Youdun had to live in misery. Anger would come, and for a moment Gao Qing's words were completely erased from his mind.

He still could not completely get rid of the anger in his heart.

Finally, in the doubt of choosing, Zhu Su decided not to respond to Gao Qing's advice. He chose to focus on the activities he was doing - to become a healer. After all, as Gao Qing said, his new status and current location did not allow him to seize even a single village.

The door opened, banged so loudly. And what happened next was truly shocking.

"Enemy soldiers! The enemy has attacked here!"

A young soldier. He screamed, his face was so panicked.

Everyone soon stood up, even those who were being treated. "What do you mean, Dude?"

The young soldier did not have a chance to answer. Because as he opened his mouth, his eyes widened unnaturally. And fresh blood was thrown up from his mouth.

His left chest was stabbed by an arrow.

He immediately collapsed to the ground. Dead.

"Get out of here!" Myine shouted aloud. But everyone had already moved faster than the order. All of them had run out of the hut.

The view outside was even more terrible. Hundreds of soldiers with grim looks and full of killing desire were brandishing their weapons, shouting the words such as, "Kill!" "Don't let even a single brat to live!" and "Finish them all!"

"Where's Mr. Gao, Nayin?!" Zhu Su frantically searched for Gao Qing. Zhu Youdun and Hu Nayin had been with him from earlier, but it was not the case with Gao Qing.

"I can't find him either!" Hu Nayin shouted, confused.

"Geez! Where is Mr. Gao?! Has he been captured by the enemy?!"

"Fu Wang! Our time is running out! We must save yourself, otherwise, we will be killed!"

"But..."

"That's Mr. Gao, he is there!" Hu Nayin pointed at the garden. Gao Qing had just returned from seeking medicinal plants.

"Sir, we are in danger! We have to save our necks!" Zhu Su shouted, calling him.

"What's going on?..." Gao Qing looked at left and right, and a second later he immediately understood. "The enemy army has attacked! But, where we should evacuate..."

"That's not important, Sir! We just have to save ourselves first!" Zhu Su answered anxiously. The enemy soldiers approached more closer. The cold sweat began to wet his neck.

And, his heart seemingly froze as he heard that shout.

"Catch those Rebels from Yunnan!"

"They ran the medical center at Yunnan, they must do the same here! Catch them all! Do what our Lord orders. Catch them, dead or alive!"

And, Zhu Su saw them. Among the troops wearing Shan military clothes, several soldiers dressed in Ming military clothes were doing the attack.

"They are after us!" Hu Nayin whispered in horror.

"As Lord orders?... Can it be... Youxun, or Yunwen?!?..."

The Ming military-style troops were getting closer to them. Running fast, Zhu Youdun whispered again, "Do they recognize us?!"

"I don't know..." Zhu Su answered between his rapid breaths. "I'm not in the mood to know..."

The distance between the enemy and them was so close. The enemy began to pull the bow, aiming directly at the four of them.

"Die you all!"

The arrows flew at deadly speed. Hu Nayin screamed. "Nooooo!"
