"So, if I understand everything, you've found a hole large enough for the both of us?" Keru had an eyebrow raised out of pure surprise. "I didn't think it would be that easy."
"Neither did I, but we have no bloody choice. The warden's coming back from vacation tomorrow, and if we manage to get out by then, will we be good." Lero felt the thin mattress of his cell's "bed" if you could even call it that.
Finalizing this plan of theirs was as basic as they could work with, especially considering the amount of time left before the cell doors closed. Only ten more minutes until Keru had to return back to where she came from or she would get in trouble.
"Look at em'!" They both turned to see a trio of male prisoners laughing at them, "Don't get caught with your pants down!"
Sighing in embarrassment, Lero turned to see the woman staring intensely at the space where those men were just at. Even though nothing physically was noticeable, just the vibe she brought in the air was intimidating, as Lero watched her dark pupils not budge from the site.
"They'll be laughing when they're still here. I can promise that." Keru took a deep breath, before turning to Lero. "Just make sure you understand what we went through with moving about the quarry and what to expect. Those guards will not be playing around once they figure out what's up."
"Ay, I bloomin' know what we said, and we sure getting outta here one way or another." Lero couldn't help but crack a smile, causing the woman's expression to change.
"That's the Lero I know." she lightened up, just as the lights started to flash signaling everyone to return to their cells. "Alright, let's not get caught."
Watching her leave the room, Lero couldn't help but feel a little guilt for getting her into this mess. Then again, it was her own doing and no one forced her to escape this complex of crime. He had to do it and get back to the resistance, for Thoam, really so he could get his Ariocaster back after that condition it's been in for the last several months. But most importantly, it was to get back to Jamal and get everything that he was promised, or die trying.
