Chapter 263 - We Make The First Move

Jamal studied the maps above on the wall, with laser focus. Even while he wasn't here, Ula was doing exactly as she was told, marking down the territory Youden was conquering each and every day through the radio report. It appeared that while the winter across the ocean was tougher than anticipated, things were starting to pick up, as Jamal could see the dates the woman wrote in shaded areas, showing advances or retreats. Those retreats or fallbacks were relatively rare, but they did happen, as he could note. But he could also note more land being conquered in a shorter time frame. The winter hold-off was ending, and the spring and summer assaults would devastate the region. He knew what he had to do.

"You're seeing something I'm not?" Ula came to his side, holding a hot cup of tea.

"If it isn't obvious, Youden's forces are ramping up on the offensive and the rest of the world is struggling to hold him off. I highly doubt they'll be able to outproduce Yodenia, especially with modern equipment. I guess it's time." Jamal took a quick sip, before sighing both in relief and the knowledge of what was to come.

"Time for wha-," Ula was quick to say with worry, before figuring out what he meant, "You're going to attack first!"

"Yeah, or else Youden will strike first. And we cannot afford that," he added before a ring of the doorbell alerted them. "I guess the rest of them are here."

Watching, the pair saw the door open, and the rest of the Viligantes of Power entering the premise. Noting who was here, they stood in a bit of surprise until Hops walked towards Jamal as if he stayed in the complex the entire time and never left.

"See you've gotten comfortable?" the man dapped Jamal up, "You've been doing good?

"Of course." Jamal responded while he turned to the rest of them, "It's been a minute."

"Jamal!" Heskins joined Hops as the others followed suit, trying to catch up on what they missed.

"At least someone's been relaxing, unlike the rest of us." Sera stood behind them all but had a small smile on her face.

"We thought it'll be another month, dude." Brat interjected, with Fonda nodding.

"Alright, it's been great seeing you all again. But I got to inform everyone here first what I need to say before the public knows, so calm down for a second." Jamal stated once he finished greeting everyone. "It's rather important."

"About time." Alice took a sigh of relief. "I already know what it is."

"You do?" Ula looked back at Jamal, who was surprised at the conclusion.

"I would think I know too." Leon turned to them all, "It's time to take back Saputa before the enemy."

Jamal just stood there impressed as ever. How in the world were they able to come up with the conclusion that they needed to move now? Turning back towards the maps, he connected that noticeable dots. The advances on the continent were far too great, especially for this time of year, and the longer they waited would it make it harder for them to counter what Youden would bring. They were all smart and knew what he had in mind, as well as anyone with common sense.

"Wow, I got to say you are all actually right." Jamal stuttered in shock, before collecting himself. "It's time we make the first move before the end of this weekend. We shall truly end Youden's regime and our first objective is the Port-O-Bea airport. Once we have that under our control, can things move from there."
