Silence filled the air, as Youden calmly shuffled through the latest papers he had awaiting his approval or need. Inside his office for the day, the nation was quickly preparing for war on a far more rapid scale than he could predict. Only months prior was he dealing with negotiation on the protection of his nation, until he turned things around into a warmongering state. At long last, would his people no longer suffer and this would all come to a proper conclusion. A conclusion that took him since he was five years old to finally be so close to achieving. A world where no matter what, all-.
"Sir!" Youden was lost in thought until a voice interrupted him. "Your caller is ringing. It's from Eriwan Gunte of Nikao. It's urgent."
Staring straight up, he could see one of his aides holding the device in her hand, wishing to hand it to him. Without hesitation, he grabbed it out of her hands, before looking at it. It better be worth it.
"Good afternoon, Eriwan." Youden remained calm, as the aide left the room instantly.
"Yessir, how's the bomb going?" Eriwan spoke nonchalantly.
Youden almost stopped breathing for a second, before calming himself down. Of course, this is what he really wanted after all. Hopefully, if everything still went according to plan, all would be fine. Because if it didn't, some planning would have to be altered. And at the current moment, he wanted as much time as possible to mobilize and have an effective force.
"I think it's going pretty well." Youden said after taking a brief pause.
With that, Eriwan laughed it off before continuing on, "Both of us know that's a lie. You think your little propaganda machine is going to scare us off?"
"It seems as if it's working as intended."
"No weapon could be that powerful, and your "people" are fools to believe such a thing. You think that this is a game?"
"I don't play games, Eriwan. I make moves that benefit me and our sovereignty. Get on with the actual point." Youden was tired of the disrespect he was getting.
"I'm glad you asked. As you should know, today is October 3rd, and many of the nations from the international conference know that you truly are nothing but a power hunger man."
"That's untrue, but go on."
"So, officially on October 16th, we shall formalize an alliance among all nations that are against any disturbance towards a peaceful world order, where we all stand together for each other. Including false threats like you. Any offensive or ingenious actions of hostility between any member will result in a swift and just response. You have personally been warned by me and I will be doing the same to other nations with similar ideals."
"I humbly accept your resolution. It's a bit pathetic that you would have to resort to such low standards that you need others to thrive, especially with my equipment. But what can I say, right? I wish to be reminded who was one of the first nations to come begging for my carrs!"
"We have no need for your machinery anymore, as we actually are self-reliant on our own domestic material. I can tell your aides haven't told you about us canceling the trade deal with your nation two weeks ago, but that suits us fine. The world is moving without you, and I will make sure we do not tolerate such totalitarian weakness."
"You think as you wish, but hear me now and hear me well. The time of reckoning is coming, and whether you realize it or not is not up to me. I will move appropriately in according measures, and you have been warned. This may very well be the last time you hear my voice. So as a final statement, enjoy life while you still can."
Before giving Eriwan the chance to elaborate on what he just threatened with, Youden hung up the machine with no hesitation. There was nothing else he needed to hear from him, besides spouting nonsense. The only good thing that truly came out of the conversation was a single date. October 16th was his deadline. He was somewhat hoping for maybe an extra month, but he had no choice.
After only mere minutes, Youden grabbed the caller again and dialed a select set of digits. Unlike the other times he called on this, this number was set specifically for major war updates and true national emergencies. The time was now, as the man pressed the machine to his ear. He didn't even have to wait for two rings until someone picked up.
Just as the opposing line was about to respond, Youden was quick and announcing the following, "This is Youden Qey, speaking here. As you know what this line is for, notify all the generals and military staff at once. Our final deadline for war begins on October 15th. The final Operation, Operation Doomsfall now needs to be underway. I expect consistent and daily planning updates, as well as final military drills this week. We need the energized bomb ready to go before the 13th, and all other measures completed by the 14th. May the world finally respect all we've done for them, and let this be a true lesson for all."
