Jamal sidestepped Ula, as her hammer hit the wall behind him, caving a hole inside. As she pulled it out, Jamal kept his composure and watched with a new intensity. For someone that was having a child, was sure being flexible. Ula was fuming though, as she threw the hammer at him. Swirling flames around his right arm and hand, Jamal grabbed it with ease, sliding back a few inches.
"Ula, I think this is enough." Jamal was about to drop the weapon.
Ula just laughed, causing Jamal to be a bit confused. This wasn't a challenge per say, however he had to hold back. At least Beai was being restraint, although she was still holding the rifle towards the other woman.
"You're not surviving that." Ula sputtered, pointing at him. "For someone that's so powerful, you sure are slow."
Jamal looked back at the hammer, before dropping it quickly. The darkness of the hammer was beginning to creep around his hand and his forearm. Trying to shake it off was doing no good, as it continued to crawl closer to his face. Whatever was happening, wasn't good, as he continued to stare down.
"I suppose I can't hold back anymore, can I?" Jamal huffed out, "Alright then."
Ula watched, as the flames around him began to twist around him more rapidly, before it shot through the roof. Beai was aghast, temporarily lowering her rifle at the sight. When it died down, Jamal was completely on fire, although his right arm was still covered in darkness, the fire appearing to do little to it.
Ula was impressed, as Jamal instantly disappeared. Stepping back in surprise, she calmed down and let strands of darkness wrap around her arms. Hearing carefully, she turned around, and fired one of the strands in that direction. Jamal barely got scraped by it, shocked by the insane reaction time she had.
"You'll have to do better." Ula smirked at him, almost playfully.
Jamal almost grinned back, until he remembered the task at hand. Speaking of which, bits of darkness was beginning to reach his shoulder. He didn't really want to know what would happen once it reached his face, but no doubt would it not be good. It was time to move quickly.
"You remember our son Laken?" Jamal stated, trying to recall something from her.
"I don't have a child. Laken is Youden's younger brother. How would you know about that? Or even care?" Ula was disgusted at the thought.
"There's literally no way that's even possible. It's a toddler compared to what's likely a forty-plus year old man! It's literally our son! Our family!"
"No, it's not!" Ula shouted back, taking advantage of the state, by landing a punch across his face.
It caused Jamal to shutter backwards, as she landed other one across his nose, shooting out blood.
"Jamal..." Beai was getting a bit worried at what the man is doing. "You sure you don't need help?"
"Watch the elevator, and shoot anyone that comes our way." Jamal managed to call out, before getting kicked in the gut, causing him to cry out in pain.
Beai just rushed past them, while Jamal continued to take the beating. He didn't even fight back, as Ula continued the barrage, before he had his back against the wall. He exited his form, and almost slumped down, until Ula forced him back up, and punched him across the face.
"Why aren't you trying?" Ula cried out, continuing to assault him. "Stop holding back!"
Jamal just stared ahead, as the darkness was beginning to cover half of face. He wasn't going to have enough time to save her. He knew it, as he coughed out blood. In disgust, Ula reformed her hammer, and slammed his side, causing him to howl in pain. But he still stood in place, wiping his mouth of blood.
Depressed from the clear ease, Ula dissipated the hammer and stood there looking at him. No way that this was the most wanted man in the country. He wasn't even trying to fight back, as the darkness began to cover one of his eyes.
"Ula." the man muttered, "Look at me."
She looked back, as the man stared her down. He began to move closer to her, and something had her in place, causing her to not move. She just continued looking him down, until she could feel his breath on her face, still bloodied. He looked at her for a second, before he just straight up kissed her.
It wasn't even a long one, as he managed to pull back before she could do anything to counter him. But still, deep down, it reminded her of something that she had a long time ago, but she couldn't pinpoint why.
"What was that for?" she was confused, but asked calmly.
"Because," Jamal managed to say, "One point in your life, you had loved me. And regardless, deep down, I know I still love you."
Ula was taken aback, as the man looked at her, and grabbed her hand. Even covered in her darkness, he was still able to move, as they both looked at each other.
"This might be my end. Enjoy-" Jamal beginning to say, before the darkness covered his mouth.
Ula didn't even know what to do, as the man began to take deeper breaths, before one last large one as the darkness covered his nose. The only thing left that was uncovered on his face was his left eye, still staring at her. He was still holding on tightly, but she could feel his grip slowly fading away.
"Jamal," she touched his face, as the man shed a tear before the darkness covering his left eye too.
She began to waver, as the man began to let go, no doubt due to the lack of oxygen. Meanwhile, Beai came back to see the two not fighting anymore.
"What's happening?" Beai returned to see the sight. "Wait? Jamal?"
"I, I don't know what to do." Ula began to mutter, "It's as if I know him."
"Yeah, you were going to marry him at one point! And it looks like he's going to die! Save him!" Beai cried out, before hearing a ding by the elevators, "Hurry up too, as we don't got all day."
With that, Ula looked back, watching as the darkness began to seep towards her hand, not even noticing. Realizing what she had to do, she got to work, not wasting time on this man's life. He deserved to live.
