Chapter 181 - A Future World Conference Or A World War

Youden eyed the outdoors again from his office like he usually did most days. The marvels still made him proud, as each day was another day getting closer to his ultimate goal. Of course, it didn't matter to him whether other members of society cared for it, but for now, it was just an idea. He just read about how around ninety-six percent of the entire continent was conquered, and only pockets of the former coalition provided some minor setbacks. According to his generals, there would only be a week more of fighting, at most.

Sighing, he looked back at his schedule showing various aspects of events he planned and needed to attend to, as well as important gatherings that Youden should note. Besides the annual military and civilian tour, the only thing he looked at in disgust, was the International World Conference Of Nations. The IWCN, as it was shorted to, was going to be held in Fuishem this year. What a coincidence, he almost laughed, as the former leader was under his control and now worked for him. What wasn't funny, was that the event was in five days and would last for three, and there would be no doubt that Youden had no intention of going. Why waste time squabbling over stupid affairs, when taken care of more urgent internal matters would have been better spent.

As he looked through his schedule to see what he could do to substitute the days, he heard the caller ring, disturbing the silence. Perfect, Youden hummed in peace, as he sat behind his desk and picked up the machine.

"Hello?" he grunted.

"Yes, is this Youden Qey speaking?" a formal voice alerted him, causing him to straighten up.

Whoever this was seemed to have something important to say, and Youden knew he had to listen to it out first, before hanging up.

"It is." Youden cleared his throat, before responding. "May I ask to whom I am speaking to?"

"Hold on." the voice faded away, before he could hear shuffling. "Youden Qey?"

"That is me."

"This is Eriwan Gunte, from the nation of Nikao. As one of the founding members of the IWCN, we were asking if we should expect your arrival towards the annual gathering. Your nation has missed the last two, since your-, your "founding" of a nation."

Youden really hated this guy with a burning passion, as he strummed his fingers across the desk. Especially with the wording about their conquest. Youden liked how some of these nations hated him, but the instant he offered them even the lowest of their equipment, they didn't hesitate to eagerly trade with them.

"I'm not sure about it this year again." Youden said, before attempting to continue, "I mean, it-"

"I just want to let you know right now, I suggest coming to this year's conference. Your actions within the region have caused quite the stir." Eriwan stated.

"It is none of your concern then." Youden shot back, "We do what we please here."

"Youden Qey, you understand that your actions are causing the rest of the world to mobilize against your efforts, and unless de-escalation occurs, I would not be surprised if a war among many nations against you may happen, or would be in the best of your interest."

Youden took a quick and deep breath, analyzing the situation in anger. Of course, he anticipated for an action to occur, but that would have hopefully have happened after they started that exact war. Unfortunately, it appeared that he didn't have a choice this year, or else a major war would get started earlier than he wished for, and causing more problems to start after what he created. Looks like he would be meeting other leaders, which wasn't as good for as he hoped for.

"After evaluating the situation, I've decided that I'm willing to come to the conference and speak with the other nations about the situation." Youden hissed through his teeth.

"Perfect, we'll discuss matters among the rest of the nations there then. Thank you for cooperating." Eriwan sounded happy before he hanged up on Youden.

Well, it looks like he would have to cancel some of his plans now in that case, he sighed, as he grabbed a marker as sliced it across the week. If he was going to be gone for much of the week, why waste time on futile occasions among his people, and now deal with the mess ahead of him. The most boring part of this journey was going to begin, and all of it just to avoid a major war against the rest of the world. Just the usual for Youden to deal with.
