Beai was studying papers about the rebels when Jamal barged into the hut.
"Welcome ba-" Beai began to say.
"No, shut up! You lied to me!" Jamal roared at her.
"What do you mean, I told you ever-"
"You never told me Suruthum was being attacked, and now my family is about to be murdered because of you! Why?"
Beai just stood there in silence, wondering how he figured out until the soldier that was with her about the news, moved behind Jamal. Of course, out of everyone, it would be him.
"I had no choice, otherwise you would leave." she muttered.
"Because that's my family! My kid could be dead for a petty rebellion! You guys would have lost without me! They were better off without you! You're not a leader, you're a coward!" Jamal screamed, before beginning to curse her out, his eyes glowing red in fury.
"I'm sure it's a misunderstanding between us."
"I want to leave now! Or I'll burn this place down with you dead in it!" Jamal yelled.
"Yes, yes, okay!"
Jamal watched as Beai moved ahead of him, before he followed behind her after grabbing his belongings. She walked towards the rackety carr, as they both entered in silence. She started it up, as the engine groaned from exposure before beginning to rumble. She floored the gas as the vehicle lurched ahead.
The trip was as long as Jamal assumed it would be. They had traversed through several dirt paths, as a few soldiers moved past them, no doubt about it being rebel patrol. But he could care less. Within twenty minutes, they stopped in front of a ratchety shack, and a long clearing.
Jamal hopped out the carr, as he slammed the door behind him, almost breaking it off literally, before going up to the shack's door. He knocked on it, and to his surprise seeing a young man, around thirty years old.
"What we got here?" the man said, with an interesting accent Jamal couldn't pinpoint.
"You can take him to Suruthum, right Lero?" Beai asked as she came out of the car.
"Course mate, but it'll cost ya." Lero nodded, as he went towards the clearing.
Jamal and Beai followed as the man went into the woods, before coming back pushing an old Ariocaster.
"Ain't she a beauty? Found this beast two years ago, shot bloody down in some battle. Fix 'er up real nice, and she flies like two shim-shots." he said, before looking at the confused Jamal and Beai, "She can fly, just hop in mate, and we'll be on our way in a few moments. As for you, I want my payment when I return."
Jamal just nodded, as he moved towards the creation before finding a ledge to climb on top of. There was a small door in which he entered with several worn-out seats, as he placed the bag underneath him. There was a small buckle, which he fastened over his waist before he waited patiently. He was finally going home, after all this time, which he didn't even know how long it had been.
He could hear the fuel being filled up, as the man outside whistled to himself happily. Hopefully, his return wouldn't be as bad as he thought it might. He shook his head, as he stared ahead, not even noticing the man getting inside.
"Not long was it? Your name?" Lero interrupted, causing him to lose thought.
"Jamal. It's Jamal."
"Aight then, won't keep you long now. Hear you got a family, eh? But you look young?" Lero commented, as he started up the engines, smoke flaring from the propeller.
"Close to 22, but the real question is the thing supposed to be smoking like that?" Jamal asked, as more of it filtered out.
"Yeah, but I'll be for a bit. Just sit tight, mate. Thing's a little speeder." Lero grinned, as he cranked down a lever.
Jamal was about to question what he meant before the vehicle instantly shuttered as it began to move forward. He looked back at Beai, who wasn't even looking at them, but the sky instead, as if something was in the air. He followed her eye's direction but could see nothing. Perhaps she refused to look at him.
The Ariocaster by now was going well over sixty miles per hour, as Lero whipped with joy, as he pulled down on the stick. This man was crazy, Jamal believed, as the craft climbed into the air. Jamal could stare down at the dot that was Beai, as she moved back towards the carr and most likely sped off to spread more lies. Jamal just laid back into the seat, already missing multiple chunks as he began to doze off before the man spoke again.
"Crikes, we lucky we left mate, looks like bloody Youden bringing in the wrath behind us."
Jamal opened his eyes to see multiple, larger, and probably more advanced flying machines a few miles behind them flying over the territory. That wasn't his problem anymore, but it was a scary sight to see. Hopefully, this would be the end of the madness. But first, he would have to see if Suruthum was still standing from what he was told.
