Youden smelled the fresh room, as he looked at the exact spot where the body was, not a single clue showing anyone died in here. He sighed a breath of relief as he reached for the caller, and dialed the number of the southernmost military outpost they had set. It only took a few rings, before someone picked up.
"Whoever this is, you're under a restricted calling line. Please hang up." a voice spoke.
"It's Youden."
"Oh sir!" he could the voice erupt in seriousness with objects shuffling around, "Excuse me, it's just no one really calls this line, and I thought someone mig-"
"It's fine. I'm asking to see how's the attack going."
He could hear some papers shuffling in the back, before the person's throat cleared.
"Says here, as of now, we're twenty miles into their land, with minimal losses as of the latest update from an hour ago."
"Really?" Youden questioned, what type of resistance was this?
"Yes sir, based on the current plans and resistance the country will be annexed by next week."
"That's good to hear. If anything comes up, I must be informed. Be watchful." Youden replied, before hanging up.
He grabbed a report off his desk about the latest news of a supposed insurgency happening in the southwestern portion. It's been three months since he's received reports of some rebel soldiers attempting to overthrow the government and reclaim the country, which to him was a joke. He only began to send a few hundred troops to quell down the weak force, and based on the news, if it wasn't for the heavily wooded area, it would have been taken by now. Alas, it was really a pristine area with a few abandoned villages once he regrouped the few thousands that lived there to work in the north. But it would only take a month, he read, taking a sip of water.
Satisfied, he placed the paper down, as he got back to work, reading more reports, research being conducted, and the latest military plans being brought to him. Once the southern nation of Deykia was crushed, he would launch a full-scale war on the remaining countries in what was once Saputa. Then, he would consider the nation a dominant superpower, and force everyone to fear him or go to war. The problem was if he wasn't careful or too aggressive, the rest of the world's nations could probably crush him if they really tried, but it would be hard.
It was finally noon when Youden reached the report on Jamal. He was last seen in some town near the Southern coast, only about two hundred miles away from the airport he escaped from. It wouldn't surprise him if he was going to join the resistance, but he assumed he wouldn't be that stupid. If he died down there so be it, as long as there weren't any threats in his way.
He heard a knock on the door, as he called whoever it was in, to see Kurt again. Almost grumbling, he straightened up, as Kurt quickly saluted him before approaching him.
"I should have told you this, but there was some important news I discovered in Suruthum." Kurt began to say.
"That is?" Youden said, taking a sip of his water he brought in.
"The rest of Jamal's accomplices are there, and he had a child with one of them."
"What!" Youden roared aloud.
"So what do we do about it?" Kurt almost stuttered as Youden walked around him.
It couldn't be true. He remembered saying there was more, but a child? Depending on who was the mother, this would be a serious threat if it had began learning to use it's powers to the fullest.
"Are you sure?" Youden asked clearly.
"We believe so, I remembered hearing a young boy's voice, and a woman's voice near them calling for him, as well as two of the accomplices from the file. It surely must be them."
"Let's not lie to the people anymore then. I want two thousand men, and at least fifty tarrs to take out Suruthum now! If you find the accomplices, kill them all."
"Even the child?"
"Did I stutter? I said I want them all dead. Get to it!" Youden fumed, as Kurt hurried out.
There will be no threat in his way, no matter what.
