Chapter 95 - Hanging In There

Erthymea slowly got up to get the tray in front of the cell. The guard that delivered it watched as she slowly moved her hands through the opening, before weakly bringing it inside. Surviving another torture session, she moved back to the wall, where she marked another strike to remind her. She knew exactly how many she's been through these last few years. Exactly one hundred and twelve. But she would not let weakness stop here.

Setting her food down, she began to slowly eat the burnt rice, not complaining one bit, as she ate every last grain. Finishing, she grabbed the cup, as she slowly swiveled it to her mouth. It was a hard task, but once she put it to her cracked lips, she drunk it eagerly, despite it's lukewarm taste, not caring for the condition.

She heard a creak, as she saw the man himself, and backed away into the corner. She hasn't seen him in months and didn't want to talk to him. There he was, Youden standing with strength eying the feeble woman. It was a shame she got herself into this condition, once strong in her former glory.

"Look at this. What a mess." Youden shook his head in disappointment as the guard opened the door, and he walked inside, before he closed it behind him.

She hissed at him, almost in an animal-like behavior. She didn't know what she was becoming, but the conditions had really affected her mentally as well.

"What the heck? This is actually sad. I remember when you and Boom were so much stronger and better than this, and all I ask from you is some information, and these last three years you've only told me, "Jamal and the others will defeat me." That just makes me mad." he laughed off.

She watched as he picked up her tray and thrown whatever food was left on top of her. She got up and tried to launch herself at him, but he simply moved out the way before she could even get near him. Finally not playing games, he tripped her and watched as she fell.

"When you're ready to seek freedom, tell me what you still know and then you'll be free from here." he said to the fallen body, before exiting the cell, and locking it back up.

Once he left, she slowly pushed herself in a sitting position and stared at the guard watching her. It would only be a matter of time before she broke, and she would do whatever it takes.
