Youden crashed into the wall behind him, causing him to lose breath. He wasn't hurt too bad, as he had taken worse, but everyone else in the room was out, and he could see blood splattered on the wall behind him. His own head was a bit sticky, but he would let his healing powers take effect. Slowly getting up, he eyed the large hole where the window was and moved closer to the edge. From there he could see the destruction ahead.
Several blocks laid in ruins with lots of dark smoke and fire in the air, and he could see strewn bodies and pieces of his tarrs thrown around. It was almost like him using his powers to a high extent, and even this passed his expectations. The fortified section on the other hand, only had their front gate blown off, and some of the soldiers inside began to make their way out ahead, in their attempt to reclaim the city.
The Saputan soldiers knew they were going to lose, so now they were going for a last-effort attempt. It was all or nothing, and all it would do would slow his army down even more.
"Sir." someone muttered.
Youden turned around, to see the scout that warned him, steading himself up.
"Can you walk?" he asked him, approaching him quickly.
"Yes sir."
"Take your time, but hurry. Let the generals know that I want their fortified base over there bombed, with everything we got, using our new artillery on them, whatever it takes."
"Are you sure? I thought you wanted us to not do too much damage or else any valuable resources or information they had there would be destroyed."
"Just don't get the Palace. They're probably saving most of those things in there."
Of course, they were most likely doing so. The Saputan Palace, where the Saputan Leader lived during his terms was the most secure building in the entire nation, even compared to that trashy Academy he used to help at. The soldier just nodded and hobbled his way out of what's left of the building.
Youden checked on the rest of the people inside, only one was still out, the rest died from the explosions. Those explosions were really that powerful to do that much damage from that distance. But he wouldn't let that stop him. He was going to take this city, and let their failed counterattack be for waste. For the first time since they began the capture, he actually smiled as he continued his plot for what to come.
