The rest of the group without Jamal were in the outskirts west of Saputa City and away from most of the fighting as it was quite dark. They were taking a stop for the night, and just in case Jamal did return. Everyone was quiet as they had set camp outside, except Ula who was still crying heavily.
"Everything will be okay, Ula." Fonda tried to comfort her, but Ula didn't believe it.
"He's probably dead now!" she let out, causing her to cry even more.
"But did you not see the large fire in the sky? I'm sure he's fine. But what did he mean by being pregnant?" Brat asked with curiosity.
"He meant nothing and was saying something random in the heat of the moment. But still, I know you guys saw the clouds disappear instantly. That was the work between Jamal and another I'm sure." Hops tried to clear things up.
"Doesn't mean he wasn't the one who survived the attack." Ula began to sniffle.
"Of course I survived." a voice behind them announced.
Everyone turned around in shock to see Jamal standing with a fireball above his hand as a light. They cheered for him, as he set the bag down he was carrying before Ula rushed up to him and embraced him ferociously.
"You made it!" she cried with relief and Jamal in a bit of shock.
"Of course I lived." he managed to say before she kissed him deeply and he didn't fight it.
Once she pulled back, he sat down and began to explain the story.
"Could I have died? Yeah, but if it wasn't for one of their own fighters, I probably might have." he started.
"But why would they do that?" Brat asked.
"The man said something about letting Youden deal with them, so it's probably some honor system. But yeah, I took out two of their fighters, and yeah I was the guy who removed the clouds. But I'm okay, cause I met Boom." Jamal added.
"You saw Boom?" Ula's interest piqued, with her head already in Jamal's lap.
"Well, it's not exactly good news. The Supers are mostly dead, except Boom and Erthymea."
There was a quick gasp from most people, before silence occurred, except for the flickering of the fire in front of them. The news that some of the world's strongest and well-trained power users have been killed, shocked them.
"So now we take their place. It's like a generational thing or something," he added.
"How about Viligantes of Powers?" Hops suggested. "With all the power we hold, I'm sure using it for justice would only make it sound right."
"Not even going to lie, but it sounds great. Any objections?" Jamal asked.
No one said anything, so he assumed it was okay with them all.
"Aight, so as the newly-formed Viligantes of Powers, we need a leader, or at least someone that will lead us or something." he began to plan, before everyone looked at him, "Okay, guess that's me. So anyway, yeah, that's it. If you don't mind I want to get more information on the journey to the port, then I'm getting some sleep."
Hops filled him in, with it taking about a month or so until arrival. From there, they would have to find a boat or some type of transportation to take them to Suruthum, or another place if it wasn't possible. Glad to get the information, Jamal nudged Ula for her to move and got up and was prepared to get some sleep inside the carriage, until she tapped his shoulder.
"Everything's okay?" he asked.
"I guess, but I'm worried, about you know," she whispered, looking down at her body.
"Oh. Don't worry, we'll come up with a plan if it happens. I promise, like everything I say." he smiled back at her. "I'll never leave you that easily."
She smiled at him, and for a few moments, they just stared at each other, before Jamal moved up and kissed her for a bit.
"Good night," he told her.
"Good night, Jamal. Thank you for protecting us," she said, before going back to the fire pit.
With that, he got inside the carriage and closed the door behind him. Their journey in Saputa City might have ended, but they still had a long way to go.
