Boom had his head covered and down, as he walked past some of Youden's soldiers in Deiram the next morning, laughing about something as they passed him. The town had only been completely taken around four hours ago, as Saputa's army here couldn't take on those destructive land machines he finally saw for himself. Large and bulky, he watched as it caved in a large building that was once the place's library, books old and new destroyed forever. It was a shame that only a year ago it was a bustling and emerging hub of life, now only rubble and chaos.
He continued on the broken sidewalk, as one of those large machines drove pass him, putting it's smoke in the air, forcing him to cough. He turned into an alley and continued moving until he reached a door and opened it. Inside were people of all races, huddling with one another with what little belongings they had left, over a small fire, barely flickering.
"What a pity," he said, as he moved through them and up the stairs to his left. He moved down the hallway until he stopped by a door. Knocking on it lightly, it opened to reveal an old man in a dirty coat.
"How are you still alive?" Boom laughed, as he stepped inside, and the man closing the door.
The man grinned, as they shook hands.
"It's been a long time Boom. I didn't think I would see you here but look at us now. It's time to get down to business though, and you know why you're here." the man gladly replied, taking out a silver case.
Boom nodded, as he handed him a small box made of gold and opened it inside to see a plethora of different coins inside.
"I know this doesn't come cheap anymore, and with the government telling us we can no longer make this, I'm glad you're still doing it, Doctor Wil." Boom replied, closing it and put it in his hand.
"Just call me Harn, just like old times. And keep the stuff, I have enough money to leave here if I wanted to. This place won't be standing for long anyway. Even if it was, this is the final batch in existence. I can't go back to the lab to get the rest and with the enemy's army approaching it. It'll be up to you to finish this Boom and you know it." he said, giving him back the case he gave him, and the silver case.
Boom looked back at the silver one and opened it to see three vials inside. Will this be enough, he thought, as he could hear shouting underneath them.
"Don't worry about me, you need to come through the window. Probably soldiers," he said, sliding it open behind Harn.
"Nah, my days are up." Harn objected, "I've complete my life's works in those vials and now no one will get the knowledge from me."
"Man, don't play the sympathy game with me. Just come with me, Harn." he urgently told him, lending his hand out.
"Good luck Boom. Finish him." Harn said, shoving him out the window, and closing it.
Boom quickly rolled over once he hit the ground, and got up, and rushed behind a wall. He turned around just in time to see a soldier aiming some type of weapon at Harn before blood covered the windows. He had to sniffle a tear as he kept on running through an alley in the back, as he lifted his hood in his place. He would have to fight for everyone if it would be the last thing he would do.
He reappeared onto some back road and continued onto the sidewalk, flying machines buzzing overhead, towards the capital. Weaving through the rubble, he continued onwards, avoiding crowds of Youden's men, as he promised he would end this.
