A large explosion rocked the town again, as Jamal looked behind him. A large burst of colorful smoke appeared in the sky, before turning black, as it thickened the air. He could hear soft bangs and powers being used in the distance, no doubt the army keeping them safe for the moment.
"Get in!" Ula yelled at him, pulling him inside the carriage they were riding in.
"This is actually bad. I've never seen anything like it." one of the people inside spoke, finally awake.
"Wait, you sound familiar? Vice?" Jamal asked.
"Oh, it's you and her. Mmm, what a coincidence. I heard you won. I must admit, I really didn't think you could do it." Vice casually told him.
"I'm surprised you gave me competition. And of course, I would win. It was a breeze." Jamal said to him back, before lurching back into his cot, the carriage moving again.
"What's happening outside?" a younger girl asked.
"War." Ula muttered.
"What? When? I need to find to find my group!" she cried, getting up trying to get out.
"You can't!" Ula cried out, before a explosion several hundred yards away from them almost flipped the carriage over, collapsing a few buildings and dust entering the air.
"Okay, nope. This is crazy. We really can't be safe in here. Look at this." Vice mumbled.
I hope Lune is doing good, Jamal worried. He needed to get out in time. They zoomed back into the woods, passing another road block of many Saputa soldiers, this time hopefully giving them more time to escape. Through the window, he could see hundreds of carriages and carts that were in front of them or they had passed.
"Guys. I don't think they want to tell us this, but we're losing. I don't think Saputa can take this on. Look how inland they are! We need to leave the country." Jamal announced.
"Okay, but where will you go? I'm not from here so I'll return home. You'll be trapped here most likely." the girl questioned.
He knew that, but he couldn't think of a nation that would take them in. Then again, he doubted they would decline, especially with the situation they were in.
"Ula, did they bring my prize in here?" he asked here, as she was finishing her meal, one that he hadn't started yet.
"Oh, yeah, here it is? Why?" she asked, handing the box behind the cot.
"Cause of this," he said, opening and putting the gloves on.
"Woah! Are you crazy! Not only you're injured, but I don't even know what it does." Ula cried out, the others grunting in agreement.
He ignored their pleas as he opened the door, his pants whipping from the speed. He gripped the roof of the carriage, and pulled himself up. Once he was there, he took a breath, and looked around him. There really was more vehicles on the road then even through the window, as far as he could see. He heard a droning behind him, and saw a metal object move through the sky towards their way. Knowing what it could bring, he aimed towards it, taking a deep breath, and creating a fireball. Instantly, his body was in immense pain, as the gloves lit up and enhanced the size of it to one if he was in his "sparking" form. Once he had a better shot, he fired at it, it flew through the air. It hit the side of it, and the tip of it caught on fire, forcing it to turn around.
Jamal grinned, and climbed back down carefully, almost slipping underneath the carts behind them.
"Are you crazy! What's wrong with you!" Ula shoved him back inside.
"We could have died! One of those metal things was heading our way, and I put it on fire." he told them.
"Yeah, but it could have went somewhere else. Why are you straining your body still? Bro, you won already, it's over. Stop trying to impress your girl." Vice said.
"I'm not trying to impress her. I'm trying to make sure we live!" he exclaimed at them, as if they couldn't see his ways.
They didn't answer back, and laid back down. Shaking his head, he put the gloves back inside, and went back to sleep. Maybe they didn't appreciate his work, but he might have saved them from death.
