Shin found himself in front of all the top generals once again, and, strangely, he was more nervous now than he had been walking into the city with potential enemies of the state.
"Hajime," the Colonel said, using the ancient traditional language to start the bout. He was wearing a gleaming white exo-gi, which contrasted starkly with the inky black light exo-suits that Shin and his opponent wore.
Shin placed his hand on the hilt of his katana, thankful and reassured by the comforting presence of the blade he trained with for most of his life. He was in a ready stance, but left the blade sheathed for his quick draw technique. He didn't know anything about the man he faced, except his name was Major Jim, and he seemed to be unarmed.
