They were already rocketing up and back at an oblique angle, quickly increasing the distance between them. Both Mechs still flew faster in a straight line than doing complicated moves.
"Why did that blast damage it so badly?"
"Because we fired it in the same direction as he was travelling, so he was exposed longer than if he was already moving away from the blast."
This made sense to Shin, since lasers and photons basically moved at the speed of light, you could only dodge before they fired, or minimize how long the beam was on you.
"So you've created a glaring weakness, but the sword is on the ground, and there is no way I can aim this railgun while flying," Shin said.
