Shin felt like he was walking through a strange dusty museum. A scary one. Every creek and crumble of concrete, or crunch of glass under foot made him second guess himself. He wasn't sure if he was surrounded or completely alone, but the death goddesses warned that the city was guarded.
'How did I get myself into this? I can't decide if she has a lot of confidence in my ability to break through to the next level, or she's run out of ideas and is hoping for the best.'
Shin was impressed by the sight of these tall buildings, transported enmasse underground. At least, he still thinks he's underground, he never asked Lily where the diffuse light in the cavern came from.
He saw many blue signs at the intersections of the streets, which he thinks are ancient names for the roadways. The alphabet is similar to the one he knows, though not exactly the same. 'Dundas Street, what is a Dundas?' he wonders, not sure he read it correctly.
