Dong-Hoon grabbed the glass and was about to flip it upside down in the sink but Tae-Hoon held the glass as well. “Big bro, just think. Se-Young will confess her feelings and might not even move out if you are lucky enough.” Tae-Hoon was doing his best to lure Dong-Hoon into his idea and Dong-Hoon pulled his hand away from the glass and crossed his arms against his chest.
“I cannot put her health at risk.” Dong-Hoon said with firmness.
“Don’t worry, it is the lightest dose and who knows it might be your lucky day.” Tae-Hoon gave him a naughty smile.
“You tell me how in the world you have this thing.” Dong-Hoon inquired as he grabbed Tae-Hoon’s ear. “Ah-Ah-Ah, Big bro. You forget I am coming back from the hospital. It was difficult but I managed to get it for you.” Dong-Hoon left his ear, which was red now and Tae-Hoon rubbed it feeling the stinging sensation of pain.
“And what is with these three glasses.” Dong-Hoon inquired yet again.
“She will get suspicious if you are going to give this juice to only her. So, you can drink one and hand her the other one.” Tae-Hoon explained.
“Why does it look like you are very experienced with this stuff.” Dong-Hoon asked arching his eyebrows and Tae-Hoon cleared his throat awkwardly laughing. “And what's with this third glass?” Dong-Hoon again asked, he was just trying to put Tae-Hoon into his words, he himself was never going to do such a thing.
“Oh, this one is for Hani. Her gynecologist told me to take better care of her since her third trimester is starting.” Tae-Hoon smiled.
“Oooo. So, Shim Tae-Hoon can be a gentleman as well, or is this side just specially for Hani.” Dong-Hoon teased him and Tae-Hoon gulped looking away. “You should focus on your love life first.” He pouted.
“Tae-Hoon.” Se-Young called from the entrance of the kitchen and both of them gulped widening their eyes looking at Se-Young, standing in front of them.
They got relaxed since Se-Young’s facial expressions told them that she did not hear anything. “Yes.” Tae-Hoon replied, acting all fine as if he had not done just something illegal just now. “Can I talk to you for a bit?” she asked and Tae-Hoon blinked looking at her and then at Dong-Hoon who was confused as well. Suddenly a light bulb lit up in his mind.
“Coming.” he said to Se-Young and then grabbed two of the glasses. “I doubt you, so I am going on the mission myself. Make sure to give that to Hani. Tae-Hoon whispered pointing towards the third glass still placed on the kitchen counter.
And before Dong-Hoon could protest, Tae-Hoon ran away.
He ran his hand through his hair, gripping some hair at the base of his neck. “This brat.”
...
Se-Young and Tae-Hoon sat on chairs in the dining area since there was no one else right now.
Tae-Hoon handed her one of the glasses and she stared at it for a minute.
Tae-Hoon gulped in nervousness thinking that she was getting suspicious.
She took the glass sighing afterward and Tae-Hoon internally screamed having the taste of victory. “You know every father loves their children dearly. No matter what, boy or girl.” she said and Tae-Hoon nodded his head, acknowledging that.
“Even my father loves me.” Se-Young exhaled a deep breath trying to get down from the ride of emotions. She took a sip from the glass as Tae-Hoon monitored her actions.
“But do you know why he left me when I was just eight?” she bitterly chuckled. Tae-Hoon stopped observing her hand and looked at her shocked, not understanding why she was having this conversation, more precisely, why was she having this conversation with him.
She turned her head looking at him and gave him a sad smile. “Because he never loved my mother.” she slightly laughed to stop herself from tearing up while Tae-Hoon was just blinking not knowing what to say, he was not good at consoling someone like that.
“He even left his eight-year-old daughter whom he called his everything, just because of another woman.” she gulped. Tae-Hoon bit his lips in nervousness.
“This game of love and want is crazy.” she said looking into his eyes. “But right now, I am telling you this because I find this situation undigestible."
“What situation?” Tae-Hoon asked as Se-Young was taking another sip from the glass. “Do you love Hani?” she asked, raising her eyebrows and Tae-Hoon looked away from her piercing gaze. He gulped down half of the juice. “What if someday you will find someone deadly attractive, maybe you will leave her and your daughter as well.” she had that painful expression painted on her face.
“No, I will never.” Tae-Hoon shook his head aggressively. Leaving his daughter just to spend his life with another woman was another thing, he was not even able to look at other women like he used to since the day Hani started to make his heart flutter.
“Where is the proof?” Se-Young asked.
“Se-Young...” he contemplated whether to say this or not but eventually said, “Not everyone is like your father.” Tae-Hoon thought she would get mad at him after hearing that but she ended up laughing, making him confused.
“Of course, everyone is different. But feelings, not everyone can control them. Okay, let’s change the question what if Hani is going to leave you for someone else?” Tae-Hoon’s fist tightened at the thought of his wife leaving him for some other man and Se-Young smiled at his little gesture.
“Then you kept pushing Big bro away, is it because of the same reason? Are you scared that one day he will leave you?” he asked angrily and Se-Young again chuckled looking towards the glass. “Exactly.” Tae-Hoon widened his eyes as his anger died. ‘Is the medicine already showing its effects?’ he asked himself looking suspiciously at her.
“Let’s not talk about me. Today is the day of Tae-Hoon and Hani. You were looking at Hani respectfully but I have also seen love somewhere hidden for her in your eyes.” she smiled at him.
