"Dad, don't worry. I know you have many things going on in your mind but please stay relaxed, none of us want you to be in this state. We all want you healthy with a body that can scold us with all its might." Min-Hoon laughed at his eldest son's humor.
He placed his hand over Dong-Hoon's head. "You guys are my everything. Looking at you guys ignoring each other shatters my heart." Dong-Hoon gave him a weak smile. "Everything will be fine and exactly the same as you want it to be." he assured his father before leaving the room as well.
...
Ji-Hoon called Yoo-Na and she picked it up in no time. "It is my luckiest day." she was squealing on the other side of the phone and Ji-Hoon was already giving his idea of going on a vacation with her double thoughts.
"Actually Ms. Park... I want your help." he hesitantly said and Yoo-Na quickly replied. "Anything for you, just say it."
He was controlling his tone to not sound annoyed. "About the vacation thing... would it be fine if my whole family join you guys?"
"What? the whole family..." Ji-Hoon thought that it was not fine with her but she instantly said. "I think I need to stay calm, I need to behave properly in front of my future in-laws." she was talking nonsense to herself.
Ji-Hoon rolled his eyes and spoke again. "Ms. Park, you did not answer my question." he said.
"Is it something to ask about? Of course, they can. Your family is my family." she said and he almost imagined her winking at him talking like that.
"And I have one more request, no actually two requests for you." he said.
"Just name them handsome." he shook his head sighing afterward.
"Can you arrange this vacation for a week rather than just three days?" he did not hear anything from the other side for a good few second and called for her again.
"Ms. Park, are you there." after barely two more seconds he heard her voice again. "Oh sorry to hold the call, I was informing my PA to make it for a week." Ji-Hoon's eyes widen at her statement.
"Mr. Shim, Mr. Shim, Handsomeeeeee." now it was her turn to call for him.
He cleared his throat listening to her calling him handsome and said, " I am very thankful to you and I also wanted to say that can you please not call me Handsome in front of my family." he requested and she compiled happily
"Ok, no problem but I will call you handsome when no one would be paying attention to us." he could sense the teasing in her voice.
"I am seriously very grateful to you." he thanked her showing his gratitude, he could have arranged everything on his own but he felt that going with Yoo-Na would be more convenient since the village particularly belonged to them.
"Oh Come on, I can do this small thing for you at least. Actually, I am more grateful that you approached me for this matter." her voice was faint as if she was shy but he just brushed it off.
"How many of you would be coming? I need to notify the workers there." she asked
"I am not so sure right now, would it be fine if I tell you the number at night."
"No, problem. Just don't forget it."
"Then we will meet the day after tomorrow."
"I will pick you guys up then." she said.
"No need. You are already doing much. We will meet directly there. Goodbye." he politely refused her pick and drop service.
"Goodbye." and he ended the call, sighing in relief. "I seriously hope that I will not regret approaching you.” he said looking at his phone while shaking his head.
...
"Aunty, I have made this banana bread and avocado smoothie for uncle. It will help with his blood pressure." Se-Young placed a dish and a glass filled with the avocado smoothie on the tray the maid was carrying to the room for Jung-Nan and Min-Hoon since the doctor had strictly advised him to rest.
"You are so lovely." she caressed her right cheek and then kissed her own fingers, indirectly kissing Se-Young's cheeks.
Dong-Hoon's heart was already moving and now she was caring about his sick father. He just gulped down his saliva, looking away from her. He had started to feel guilty for his words that he had said to her.
Se-Young was really a very nice person that he had failed to noticed or he noticed that but just chose to not acknowledge in the name of her being a chef.
In the meantime, Ji-Hoon came to the dinner table. "Mom, I wanted to ask how many of us will be going in total. I need to tell the Parks." he said taking a seat and Jung-Nan thought to herself for a good few second. "Let me call Hani's family maybe they would like to go as well. We have not interacted with them much." Hani smiled hearing that while Ji-Hoon hesitated not because she was talking about Hani's family but about the fact that Parks might feel awkward with that many people but he did not say anything as his mother looked happy dialing the call.
On the other hand, Tae-Hoon was uncomfortable with the thought of his in-laws going with them.
"Hello, Mrs. Oh... it has been long indeed... actually, we are leaving for a vacation the day after tomorrow so I thought that it would be a great time for us to catch up with each other... oh, no, no, we will be going to Gyohyeonri village... then what about Ha-Neul... then done, we will be leaving the day after tomorrow seven in the morning... Hani would be happy knowing this." Jung-Nan cut the call looking at all of them, staring at her.
"Well, there is something important going on in your parents' company so, they can't go on vacation with us." she said to Hani and Tae-Hoon relaxed a bit. "But your brother agreed to go with us." Hani smiled at her, feeling happy and Ji-Hoon also relaxed hearing that only one person would be coming. He did not want to make the situation awkward with someone, he had a professional relationship.
