The sounds of sirens infused with patient moans, the smell of coffee disseminating from the reception desk, the white white walls hiding pains and screams of hidden patients whilst the hospital's white shiny tiles reflected the limps, the bleeding, groaning patients which werre walking upon them. Anathii watching while busling near the reception shortly before awaiting for his mother as well as the doctor which had tended to Caith. Thoughts of Zanele disorderely dissolving his peace of mind, as though she had left a seed of lust down in the bottom of his heart. Making him take out his phone and typing out a small poem.
You came
With dancing eyes
Before
Your infectious smile
Sealed
My lips, with a kiss
And stole
A passionate gift
Using
Your pregnant tongue
To insert
Seeds of intimacy
Down
The bottom
Of my voice
Burning my throat
And vocal cords
As it came
Tumbling down
Like a shooting star
To the centre
Of my heart
Before growing
Like an apple
of lust
In the midst
Of the Garden
of Eden
Plus the fact that her doctor could easily pick up on her pregnancy and inform Anathii's mother now seemed like a bit of a problem, but dispite this he didn't let the cloud of worry that hung above his head wipe away the neutral expression of his face. He sat and stood regularly as minutes passed on, leaving behind seeds of questions centred amidst Caith's questionable honestly and loyalty, making him wonder if the baby was truly his, and if he was the only one Caith had recenlty shared the bed with.
She was smart after all and knew the implications that having a baby with him would cause, both for them and their families' sake. "Everything is gonna be alright, just sit down and take a chill pill," said a voice that emerged from the other mixed voices, only to find bleeding man who had his hand pressed beneath his blood elbow sipping from a cup of coffee.
"How can it be if I couldn't even remember to check her pulse?" Anathi's outburst left him at the core of attention for a few seconds, his fists still touching from him banging them, even worse, he got the attention of both a nearby nurse as well as the very same journalist who had just walked in, Kimm Jayde-Maxwell.
He could already feel the heat which would inevitably come from her questions, judging by the way she had her eyes glued on him. Her velvet lip gloss linked in the color of her velvet dress, along side the shorter heels which she hadn't been wearing on air back at the crime scene. He tried to look for the way out of the situation and thought of the hallway as a possible escape.
So down the hallway he dashed, walking as fast as he could, until his eyes took note of the same cop which had helped carry Caith into the cop cop car walking out of a certain ward, whilst arguing with a certain doctor...
"Look here, do you see this badge, I need to speak to her before I go, I've waited long enough," the cop argued with tenuous intent whilst re-inforcing his authority as a law enforcer.
"Honestly I understand that but she is not ready for interviews and interrogation right now so you'll have to excuse us," she smiled back. '
And you can go look for the perpetrators and leave the ones who truly care about her, wait for her and deal with her health." That voice came from his mother and her voice made it hard for the cop to try fight his ground, especially given that another nurse even came and helped to convince him to leave, along with his doughnut-loving belly.
The nurse had a familiar name which his memories traced back to high school, as the girl who was in his homeroom, aside from being his crush's friend. Even past her sweet gestures and kind smile he still saw her as the rude girl who'd never bothered to give him time of day. Grudges wasn't something Anathii took proud in, but against her that seemed different... Besides, he had ended up proving himself anyways when he had finally managed to successfully date her friend, thanks to Caith's help.
"Anathii right? I remember you, I'm sure for that," that same decietfully smiling nurse asked him, and in response he just diverted his attention back to his mother and smiled, as that helped his frustration fade away. "Just wanted to say I'm really sorry though." She said through her blue medical mask which covered half of her face.
Her voice left him actually wondering if she had actually meant her words, and if the apology was about Caith's current situation or their high school issues, but none of that mattered. he wanted nothing to do with her anyways. The present was too precious to waist on old grudges.
"Sorry for what exactly?" his question left her putting a hand on his shoulders despite her being shorter than him. Nevertheless. he looked at her, before taking another look through the door of the ward, and seeing Caith's bed not so far from the door, before turning around and talking his mother for a coffee break back to the reception, now feeling truly ready to face Kimm JM and put her in her place, whilst also leaving behind the answer of the familiar nurse, for her apology seemed pretty much delayed, and even too colder to bother serving.
Moments later they were actually in the coffee section, where a strong scent of caffiene flew into their nostrils, sharing the space with a few other patients and staff since there weren't many at that time of midnight, plus most nurses were probably napping anyways. No matter how he tried to induce her into keeping her voice down she just wouldn't...
"Was it that bad? Airbags, guns, cops and robbers, alongside shattered windows?" She flashed him a concerned look and squeezed his arms, her tone holding the usual motherly compassion hostage. She was really worried and he could see it in her eyes to say the least. Her hair tied back, as she wore a black vest and a light blue tights which lessened the width of her hips - she was gaining weight after all but couldn't bear letting her Youth pass her by. She loved being a hipster - especially now that her useless, and cowardly husband was no longer around.
"Mom, they shot the chauffer, popped the airbad with another gunshot just after we had bumped into them... All 3 of those masked men really meant business." He took a deep breath. "For a second there I wondered if Caith and I would make it out of that horrendous situation." His face carried a small dose of dismay.
"But atleast you didn't my son, imagine what your wife-to-be would have said if you'd left us a few days before your wedding." Earnestly her tone came out. "Now promise me to keep this from her, we don't want her to worry over past matters, we got a wedding to execute you know." His mother looked youthfully cunning at the tender age of 42, only 20 years above his age.
Furthermore he listened to her, the lady who had done everything in her power to see him succeed, whether good or bad. He was just glad that she was calm at that moment, even as she continued gong on about the wedding, until she checked the time and remembered her other beloved child. The daughter who they'd almost lost to the infamous Gummy Bear many years back had their mother not decided to run away, at the last minute.
A move which defined her as a long-term tactitioner in Anathii's eyes. Same eyes which adored her more than his words could define, more than the best memories of their family with his father in it, and even more than the thought of his father being back with them. His father was a coward who sold them out, he could proudly say that he hated his father - maybe not loudly confess it, but internally embrace it with pride.
Looking into his mother's eyes, and seeing prudence sprouting from her pupils reminded him that she was no longer that naive lady that his father had left behind. 'Had left behind to deal with Gummy Bear's debt, which she eventually did by leaving a contract transferring their house's ownership to Gummy Bear. Since selling the house's furniture alongside putting tenants in the the bedrooms had failed to bring the money closer to the amount that had been due to Gummy Bear - 64 thousand instead of 96 thousand which the latter wanted.
Plus with his patience running out and his dirty eyes set on her daughter in order to settle the debt, Anathii's mother had back then seen the road as the way out. Before eventually making her way towards Cape Town's Pinelands, where her step sister was situated, the same sister who had a daughter 3 years older than Anathii, a daugther by the name of Caith.
"Anathii! Anathii!" His mother said putting his chin into in between her finger and thumb, and looking at him with wide opened eyes, which lurched his mind back to reality.

Meanwhile back at Vulisanii's, as he sat with his clearly enraged uncle who was walking around the table with a glass in one hand and a beeoing phone in the other.
"Malume, Mastermind was there, he is experienced, they knew exactly what they had to do...' Vulisanii tried to explain.
"Vulisanii, you gave the go ahead too soon and you know my client wanted that Mercedes tomorrow." The lines on his forehead showed his frustration. "You have failed me Vulisanii, you should stay out of this business for at least a month - you're not focused.
"How can I stay focussed when you expect me to be glued to that girl all the time?" he stiffened and frowned in his uncle's direction, only for his uncle to tease in his direction, the nearby maids closing in to hear that altercation. "But yes, from now on you should only focus on that girl, and that's all you'll do for me until I state otherwise.
"But after a month I want back In, I will persoanlly spearhead the hijack if I have to, clearly pride has left the boys' brains drowning in slime." Vulisanii then laughed whilst playing with his chain, until his laughter was halted when he walked past the tall, slim-thick lady whom he recognized to be the detective, whom his uncle had been closely linked to lately.
Not that he didn't like her, but he certainly didn'ttrust her, since he barely knew her,nor how she'd even aquainted his uncle. She was too devious and deadly if any two words would bother volunteer to describe her. Her high heels, slim slecks which hugs her upper tummy just beneah her breast - whch were carried by a brownish maroon top which had diamond-shaped holes and a very short Chinese colar which exposed the red bruise that sat on the light complexion of the left side of her neck. Her latin skin tone matched by her khaki handbag which had slim, silver chain laces that hung from her sholder down to her mid thigh. She looked were too sexy to be true.

Yet back at the hospital, Anathi and his mother kept their conversation at the tip of the iceberg, long enough to drop the room's temperature...
"You'll probably see Genna tomorrow, and I promised her mother that you will indeed make her very happy. Be the guy she deserves at least from the start, she is a Gumede and you know what that means Anathii."She raised her eyebrows at him, highlighting the seriousness of her words.
"Okay mom that's enough I promise to love and cherish her and I'll forever be grateful that you introduced me to her." Winking at her, he swamped a gentle look at her, one that confirmed one thing - that he had enough of the conversation. And in response she parted her lips in dissapointment and left a fake smile emerging in between them, before they both took a last sip from their cups of coffee; until they both turned to the door and saw Caith's jaw dropped just before she dropped her own mug and hurried away.
"Caith! Caith! Wait!" Anathii felt dizzy, froze for a few secs as he gathered enough courage to run after her as well as the right words to convince her otherwise.
He left his mother behind and dashed after her, bumping into a nurse in the process, but by the time he ran past the reception and out into the main entrance he saw her getting into a White Golf GTI. Leaving him wondering as to whom the driver could have been, as well as where she was getting access to all those cars, both the Mercedes and the GTI. Either way he just felt that he had to fix things, and very fast too.
