Harry Gallagher
"Why are you so interested in this, tv show?" Kim stated from her place on the armchair, her nimble fingers rolling herself a cigarette.
"It's not just a tv show," I responded with a snicker, "that, that is the newest form of reality tv." She tossed me one of her pre rolled joints and I caught it, placing it in my mouth in one smooth motion.
"It's definitely real Kim," I felt Stacy's warm arms wrap around my neck and I looked up, seeing her beautiful face smiling back at me. "We've shown you what we can do now."
"Come on, you showed me that when I was drunk, or was I high?" Kim reached into her pocket, swearing to herself.
"Lost another lighter?" I asked and she nodded in response. "Come here, I will spark it for you." She stood, her form slinking towards me with a sexualised gait that would have made me chase after her if not for Stacy. I pinched my thumb and forefinger together and when I pulled them apart, a bridge of crackling lighting arced between the gap. She jumped in response and I heard Stacy laugh to herself causing a smile to break out on my lips.
"Stop teasing Kim," Liam muttered from another armchair, his lanky physique hanging over the side of the chair. I didn't know how that man could get comfortable sitting like that, but that wasn't a surprise, he was always peculiar.
"I, I thought it was some parlor trick," Kim said in that way of hers that spoke of her annoyance at being embarrassed.
"We've been nothing but honest, haven't we babe." Stacy stated, her words sending shivers through my ears all the way down to my heart, I could swear that whenever I heard her speak, I felt more alive. I lit my joint with the arcing electricity and took in a large toke. The joint was beautifully strong and I tilted my head back, taking one more large intake before gesturing for Stacy to take one herself. She peeled back from me, taking the joint from my mouth and taking a smoke herself, gods, I love this woman. Kim hesitantly walked forwards, placing the end of the cigarette between my fingers, removing it once it had been lit.
"We know that this changes things," I snuffed out the arc of electricity with a thought and pointed towards the tv. "But, with that, I think we need to change the way we operate." Stacy circled the chair, lying down with her head on my lap, looking up at me with those doe like eyes of hers. I took the joint from her mouth, smoking it as I continued speaking, "We need to get stronger, because I assume we aren't the only group of people who have been given these fine abilities, and it will only take one egotistical dick head to try to take us -" I stopped talking, interrupted by a rhythmic thumping on the door.
"We know you're in there Harry!" the voice, belonging to one egotistical dick head, shouted and I sighed, handing the joint to Liam as I stood and walked by.
"What do you want, Connor?" I asked as I opened the door and was greeted by Connor and his small gang of six others.
"I don't know if you've heard, but you're no longer going to be in charge of this area."
"Oh, really?" I asked as I looked at the faces of those in his procession of twats. "And whose bright idea was this, cause I highly doubt you're smart enough to gather a group this large. That is unless," I scratched the back of my head, "you were that group of male strippers I ordered." I smiled as I heard Stacy chortle from inside.
"Shut up!"
"Are you trying to order me!"
"You think you've still got the power to stay in charge don't you?"
"Yeah and why would you think otherwise?"
"Cause something's changed," with that, the muscles on Connor's arms seemed to expand, as if inflating like a balloon. He smiled at me with teeth that hadn't mended since the last time he had picked a fight with me.
"Oh wow, first the penis pump and now you got one for your arms, I know you lack the masculinity, but this is too much, even for me." I could hear the veins in his forehead bubbling with fury as he swung, but the punch was still slow, even with the blimps he now had for arms. Unfortunately however, his fist landed against the door frame, taking a chunk of wood with him. I looked at the door frame, feeling a sense of annoyance rising within me.
"Don't let me kill you, just hand over your control of this neighbourhood, and maybe, I will just leave you crippled." I pointedly ignored him as I looked at the henchmen he had gathered, recognising his usual troops and one or two fresh faces.
"Before I get my hands dirty, I'm going to ask you twats a question. If you would rather be anywhere else, then I suggest you leave, otherwise you will die with this-" I looked Connor up and down, thinking of an insult.
"Gorilla!" shouted Stacy from inside and I felt proud of myself for finding a keeper.
"Thank you dear, otherwise, you will die alongside this gorilla. I will give you three seconds."
"Do you not understand, the power has changed, you no longer-" Connor started saying.
"One!"
"You don't really think-"
"Two!" I noticed two of them scurrying away, but his usual crowd stayed. Connor took another wide swing, and I simply stepped forwards and under.
"I swear, once I'm done with you, then I will make that chick of yours choke on my-" My fist landed against his chin, sending him spinning. I could feel the lighting coursing through my veins, and the world seemed to slow. I clicked my neck and kicked Connor's shin, breaking the bone beneath. He screamed in pain. His underlings felt nervous and scared, I could see it in their faces.
"I did warn you," I held my palms outwards, aiming the open palm towards two of the four remaining groupies and a thick blast of lighting tore from me. The beam latched onto them like a tentacle of cackling energy and their screams lasted for barely two seconds, before the scent of burning could be smelled in the air. I locked eyes with the last two members of Connor's group and smiled. The simple act of non-chantlant smiling sent a wave of fear through them and they turned to flee. However, lighting couldn't be outrun by two slightly overweight fools, they dropped dead within moments, but I ensured they screamed slightly longer than the other two. I turned to Connor whose large musculature had deflated.
"Fuck!" he shouted as he hissed at his broken shin.
"Connor, Connor, Connor." I tutted, as I walked towards him, allowing electricity to spill from me like a fountain. "Even without these powers, you still would have lost, do you know why?" To his credit, he didn't back down from a fight. "It's not because you lack conviction, or strength, it's because you included Stacy in this." Connor went to speak, probably to swear at me, or perhaps to beg. But lightning tore through him, killing him and the words he was likely to utter.
