Wu Zhangkong had already informed the group of five, namely, Gu Yue, Xie Xie, Xu Xiaoyan, Ye Xinglan, and Xu Lizhi, that Tang Wulin had completed his exam and would not need to participate any farther.
This was a shock to them all, since despite them traveling together they, and already gain access to easier transportation, Tang Wulin still overtook them.
But the one who was most dissapointed was none other than Gu Yue. Which was why she came up with the idea of challenging the Imperial Sun and Moon academy.
It was a know fact that the Shrek and Sun and Moon academy had enmity that dated back to over 10,000 years. If the students from Shrek were to challenge them all of a sudden, they would obviously retaliate.
This was exactly what they needed to attract Wulin's attention. The others also agreed with the idea, as they also wanted Wulin to join them. Them were obviously not so happy that Wulin did not regroup with them.
As for the challenge, the Sun and Moon academy used various methods to pressure the group. But the one who lead the group was Gu Yue herself. She was completely indifferent to all of this.
She didn't hesitate to put forward the condition that this would be a 6v6, but the Sun and Moon academy would have to allow their captain, who was not present at the moment to participate as he arrives.
The Sun and Moon academy were obviously not pleased with the condition. But agreed on the condition that the match would end if their so-called captain could not arrive before the rest five were defeated.

Since Tang Wulin's absence, Gu Yue took full command of the battle. She and Xu Xiaoyan, with their amazing control over the elements were easily able to bind and restain their opponents. Lizhi was constantly supplying the group with the buns required, while Xinglan and Xie Xie took the offense.
It didn't take long for them to take out You Dingqi. Their goal was to buy time and pressure their opponents. Which was going smoothly until Long Chen, the opposition team captain, the one with Holy saint dragon martial soul, decided they had to go all out.
It was then, everything when downhill for the Shrek. They never expected that their opponents would have two martial soul fusion in store for them.
The sky tiger martial soul fusion by Xian Mochen and Kuang Zangtian. Other was the Ice snow goddess fusion by Xue Luxian and Weng Daimin
The group of five were confident they could take out the sky tiger, even with the struggle. But the 2m tall goddess was a whole different story. It was obviously the strongest trump carp their opponents had to offer, and it won't go down easy.
The two fusions charged forward not giving their opponents a chance to take a break. The sky Tiger went straight for Xie Xie, who was not adept in the strength department, and took him out. Xie Xie was already close within the enemy lines as he was the one to take out You Dingqi. But it also meant he was severely injured compared to others. He simply didn't have the strength to take on a martial soul fusion unlike a certain someone who could downright plummet it to the ground.
As for the snow goddess, it charged at the Xinglan. Xue Luxian had exchanged swords with Xinglan previous and it was obvious that Xinglan was superior. But the ice goddess was different. The beautiful figure of the goddess elegantly slashed the ice sword she was wielding. Despite Xu Xiaoyan's restraints or Xinglan's starlight, the ice slash completely overpowered her.
A wave a icy wind blew throughout the stadium, and Xu Xinglan's injured and unconscious body was thrown out of the field. But the ice snow goddess paid no mind to her and glanced at the remaining three. The beautiful face of the goddess had a frown as she saw that her sword slash little to no effect on the trio. It was annoying to say the least.
The sky tiger and Long Chen glanced at the trio. It was obvious which side had the upper hand now. In an instant the tables were turned to their favor. Long Chen already felt like he himself didn't needed to make a move as if was obvious their opponents were not attack type and both the Martial soul fusions had strength remaining.
The Ice snow goddess didnot hesitate to raise the sword high. With even greater strength she slashed the sword vertically, and a giant wave of Ice rushed towards the trio.
The strength was evident. Xu Xiaoyan already knew she couldn't do anything about it, but still held her ground. But she was suddenly yanked back as a figure stepped forward.
She placed her hands on the ground and raised a towering wall of stone and ice. It was so swift that whoever saw couldn't help but be impressed by her control.
But even this didn't stop the slash from breaking through. It hit Gu Yue, who defended the remaining two from the gaint wave. But this resulted in her being thrown into the air and fell on the ground, completely bruised.
The Ice snow goddess was extremely annoyed that she still didn't manage to take all of them out at once. It again delivered a horizontal slash at her opponent. The sheer scope of the attack was so great that neither the sky tiger not the saint holy dragon needed to make a move. They couldn't make a move as they themselves would get caught up.
The giant wave of icy slash raged towards the trio. Gu Yue was injured but wasn't knocked out. But her body was still injured, and couldn't get up. But she didn't hesitate to try and raise a wall again.
She wasn't go down that easy!
But before she could, eight gigantic dragons rose from the ground, shaken the whole field in the process. It tore through the incoming wave, as if devouring it in rage, cancelling it out completely.
As the snowy fog that covered the field cleared, a figure could be seen next to Gu Yue, holding her in his arms. As the cameras zoomed in, his handsome face was visible. A face so beautiful, that everyone present were left in awe. But all of them wondered who this person was to interrupt the match.
But Tang Wulin couldn't care less about the match. All he cared about was the person he held in his arms.
Gu Yue was gravely injured yet still held a satisfied smile seeing Tang Wulin. But all Tang Wulin could ask was,
"Why did you hold back? "
