Chapter 8 - Kingdom of Aztlan & Rin's Choice

Rin saw her father looking at her with a hearty smile.

"My daughter has grown sharper than ever."

Ron praised her for being smart and telling him to throw away the scroll just by hearing the 'beep' sounds.

Rin who was already happy that she was able to her father felt even more over the moon when Ron praised her.

"If I hadn't thrown it away at the right time.."

Ron said as he looked at his hairy chest.

"...my hairs would have suffered."

Ron completed his sentence, causing Rin to look at him with an odd expression.

"Hehehe."

Rin couldn't stop giggling after looking at Ron's serious expression while he was joking around.

For Rin, what Ron was saying looked like he was 'joking around', but she didn't know one thing.

Ron would never involve his precious Alpha hair in his jokes.

Evelin smacked her head looking at his dumb husband.

"When will you be more mature?"

Evelin shook her head while mumbling.

"Let's go."

She turned around to go inside their house.

Rin and Ron both followed her inside.

Inside the house, Rin was sitting with her parents at their dinner table. But it wasn't dinner time neither were they sitting here to eat late-night snacks.

They were sitting at the dinner table to discuss the announcement of the Golden Scroll.

Evelin and Ron were staring at each other.

"We will go."

Ron declared with a trembling voice.

Bang!

Evelin smacked the table and glared at him.

'Gulp.'

Her smack was so decisive and terrifying that Ron slouched back in his chair.

Rin clenched her fists.

'This may turn out to be the chance that I was waiting for.'

Rin thought while a part of the announcement was still floating in her mind.

'Train to become strong.'

Rin looked decisive as she raised her head and looked at Evelin with her cute baby face.

"Mom I want to go too."

Rin let out her wish with a pouting face.

Smack!

Ron who was looking down with his silver hair covering his face smacked his thigh with his hand.

"Two against one."

Ron said as he looked at Evelin with a seductive look, as his crimson eyes shined even brighter than before.

Ron was excited.

"This is a first."

Ron murmured as he looked at Rin.

This was the first time he was winning against his wife's decision.

It was all thanks to his little angel.

Sigh~

Without saying anything Evelin let out a chilly breath which caused both Ron and Rin to shiver.

"Only this time will this happen. We will go to the Kingdom of Aztlan on one condition."

Evelin said with a threatening tone.

Evelin's chilly aura kept on rising as she looked at Ron and raised her index finger in front of his face.

"You will lay low."

Evelin told her husband about the condition.

'Nod.'

Ron had no choice but to follow the guideline that Evelin was setting up for him.

'Are all wives so scary?'

Rin thought as she looked at the interaction between her parent.

Evelin finally calmed down as Ron accepted her condition.

There was a reason why she brought up this condition.

Ron and Evelin were on an inhabited island.

They had to go to the closest kingdom to the island they were on, every time there was a need to get food or medicine for Rin.

'The Gei Kingdom.'

Every time they would go to the Gei Kingdom, Ron would do something stupid.

There wasn't a single time when Ron didn't cause trouble for Evelin.

It was still bearable as 'Gei Kingdom' was along the outskirts of the Eden Continent and nobody knew them or recognize them.

This time was different.

They were going to the 'Kingdom of Aztlan'. The center of the Eden Continent.

The place where the treaty of peace between the three races was signed.

And Now the place where the three races will be coming to study side by side.

Rin didn't know all this so she thought that her mother was overreacting but it was actually for their benefit.

"We will leave when it's morning."

Ron said as he got up and left the table.

There were only seven days left for them to travel from their unnamed island to the Kingdom of Aztlan.

"Mom, do you remember what I told you before?"

Rin looked at Evelin with a definitive look.

"You want to become stronger."

Evelin answered her as she still remembered the intense expression on Rin's face.

"Do you want to join the academy?"

Evelin asked Rin with squinted eyes but there was no anger in her eyes.

"Yes."

Rin nodded as she answered her mother's question.

"Which side will you choose?"

Evelin looked at her daughter sadly.

Rin was a smart woman before she ended up here.

She was an employee for one of the top companies in Tokyo.

How could she not understand what her mother was asking her?

"I will study there as a human."

Rin was still confident as she replied to Evelin.

"What if they find out about your secret?"

Evelin wasn't done.

"You should become strong. I won't stop you. neither will Ron. Can't, you just stay with us? Just train with your father and me. Do you have to join the academy?"

Evelin's started pouring out ideas and questions.

Rin was touched as she looked at her mother's expression that was hidden under her light complexion.

There was not once that Evelin declined her decision or erred her wish.

"Mom if I train here, I will just be as strong as you or dad. I want to become the strongest. I have to study at Asgard Academy."

Rin told Evelin. Her heart was heavy.

It wasn't like she didn't want to live with her parents after living her whole life as an orphan.

She had to weigh the consequences against her wishes.

[What the Cupid would do to her if she doesn't complete her mission in the given time?]

The balance was outweighed on the Cupid's side as her wishes held no account. She had to be decisive.

"Don't worry. Nobody will find out my secret."

Rin assured her mother.

'After living my whole life as a human, how can I not act as a perfect human in front of others?'

Rin smiled as there was no way that she would fail in this.

"No matter what you choose, I will support you."

Evelin still tried once again but without pressuring Rin.

"Mom, I will study at the academy."

Rin declared what she wanted. There was no going back now. This was her choice.
