"You summoned me, Syre?" Trixie did her best to remember and employ every ounce of training she had received so far. Intrinsically, she understood that Arnwald was actually pretty easy going as long as you remained in his good graces. However, the regent remained an intimidating figure.
"Thank you for meeting me," Arnwald said with a nod. "Do you know why I've called you here today?"
Trixie had a few guesses, some exciting and others that had her shaking in her boots. She tried to reassure herself that, based on his current demeanor, this wasn't about the fact she had formed a contract with a demon. She doubted he would be so at ease. It didn't change the fact she felt those striking eyes, like flashes of lightening, seemed to pierce through her soul into the darkest depths of her being. Nervously, she whiped her sweaty palms against the fabric of her pants.
"Is this about the job you had assigned me?" Trixie asked hopefully.
