"What was that?" Liron glanced around in confusion. He could've sworn he'd heard something fall into the pond, but for the life of him he couldn't see what or who it had been. With a shrug, he decided to return his attention to the task at hand.
Liron had spent a morning compiling information on all the victims of the serial killer currently at large. He had found a disturbing pattern which became painfully clear as he started setting up small portraits he'd received from mourning families on the monument along with the late Viscountess. They were all young women with fair skin and raven hair like the Viscountess. At this point, there was no question that the noble woman's untimely demise was related to the string of killings.
"Don't worry, I'm going to make sure you receive justice for this!" Liron promised the collection of portraits as he finished placing them. "Even if I couldn't save you all… I can at least allow you to rest in peace."
