"Remind me why this couldn't wait until tomorrow," Jacoby grumbled as he walked alongside Emerick and Orval. "Don't you think your father and his officers have better things to do at this ungodly hour?"
"Most certainly," Emerick replied with a chuckle, "But this simply can't wait. Surely you agree?"
"I still feel this could wait until a more respectable hour," Jacoby frowned. "It is not as though Liron will take action until the marrow anyway."
"I would think of everyone you'd be the most upset about what is happening," Emerick stopped and stared the butler in the eye with a severe intensity. All trace of humor and his typical nonchalance had vanished. "Do you honestly think all this monster is doing to these women is killing them?"
