Rathus tried to ignore the growing tightness in his chest. So Ellie really was avoiding him. It shouldn't have come as any sort of surprise. Still, it did sting. In fact, it stung a lot more than he had expected. Was she really that ashamed of that night? The more he thought about it, the tighter his chest felt.
"Well that's a brooding look if I ever saw one!"
Rathus glanced up only to find himself face to face with his younger brother, Titus. He had quite forgotten the whole reason he'd left his room and the drafts within it was to greet Titus and Rosalie at the door. They had decided to visit the estate for the holiday along with Rosalie's grandparents. Evidently, Ellie had prepared the empty rooms near his own so Rathus and Titus could have more opportunities to catch up. He had received the information second hand from Maxwell.
"Not like it's anything new," Rathus quirked a grin. "How are you guys holding up?"
