Trixie trudged back towards the castle, head reeling from her unexpected encounter with the queen. She was still shaking from her intense fear of what she had believed would be her inevitable demise. Even Lamya was quiet, equally unsettled.
Ahead of her, Jacoby walked stiffly and silently. He still seemed to be in shock, though she was starting to pick up an angry vibe from him. Who could blame him? She had been lying to him for years now, and on top of that now he was being forced to keep secrets as well.
"You know," Jacoby stopped suddenly and turned to Trixie, eyes burning fiercely. "I was beginning to think that I had you all wrong, that I had misjudged you. I actually was starting to believe that you might prove to be a suitable match for Emerick..."
