"So it has come to this," Rathus sighed. Next to him, Titus was cradling his head in his hands as Emerick regarded them thoughtfully from across the table. He shouldn't have been surprised to see backlash from Vicki over Titus's marriage to Rosalie, but he still couldn't fathom why she always needed to take such extreme measures.
"Have you expressed any of these concerns to my mothers?" Emerick questioned. "Esmyria, in particular, will want to be informed of this. Then again, knowing how she is there's a good chance she's already aware of this predicament."
"No," Titus shook his head. "Immediately after it happened, I grabbed Rosalie and came straight here. I didn't want to risk it. I still don't! What do I do? That woman is completely psychotic, and I know she'll do anything--and I mean ANYTHING--to get Rosalie out of the picture!"
