"Trixie! You have to believe me, it wasn't my fault!" Emerick pleaded as he hurried after the tempermental hobgoblin.
"I don't want to hear it!" She snapped. "You left me alone for FIVE HOURS Emerick! It was practically DAWN by the time that hellish event ended!"
It wasn't too much of an exaggeration. In fact, there were still a few stragglers who'd stayed the night in guest rooms, or even the hallways. Apparently, the kids had been up quite late as well. The following morning, everyone, guest and household member alike were quite dead on their feet.
"Have you met my mother?!" Emerick cried. "I couldn't so much as glance your way without getting assaulted by her fan!"
"It's called USING YOUR WORDS EMERICK!" Trixie snapped back. "THERE WERE MAIDS AND BUTLERS ALL OVER THE FUCKING PLACE! YOU COULD HAVE ASKED ONE OF THEM TO FETCH ME!"
"Actually..." Emerick frowned. "That is a good point."
