Emerick paced the length of the floor in front of the great double doors at the entrance to his manor, waiting. Jacoby had left with Trixie who had evidently been summoned to talk with his father, likely to discuss her upcoming mission. It had been a while since she left, and it made him anxious.
"I see you are taking this well," Orval commented, leisurely lounging against one of the walls as he watched Emerick pace.
"I don't know what you are talking about," Emerick lied.
"Sure you don't," Orval chuckled. "You've only been wearing a hole in the floor ever since they left, but it can't have anything to do with the fact she's gone. Nope!"
"I could point out that you have been here almost as long as I have," Emerick replied dryly.
