Outside of the school dressed in a dark blue robe, Jason fidgeted with the collar. In his hand was his diploma which marked the end of his highschool career. The sight of Karan attempting to smile nicely as he walked across the stage was to remember. It was like a psycho in the movies when they began busting down the door.
Feeling a hand on his shoulder, his father rested his arm on his shoulders. "Nicely done, Son. You survived High School."
"So do you have any idea what you want to do now?" Liz asked from the side.
Jason was actually stuck as he truthfully didn't know what he wanted to do. He could go to college but it would just be busy work, or he could just continue his hobby. There was also an option of creating a research center with Lala. It would help with Lala inventions and give space for actual test runs instead of being in the backyard.
"I'm sure I can think of something." Jason shrugged.
"You could be king?" Lala suggested appearing by his side. "I'm sure Papa wouldn't mind since he's sure you're strong enough. He won't stop bragging about your achievement of defeating Thragg, the Last Viltimite."
"That sounds...dreadfully boring."
"You sound just like Papa." Lala grumbled.
While he searched his memories, Jason could vaguely remember Gid Deviluke being an odd character. His true character was never truthfully shown and varied between the anime and manga. Only a few points stayed the same and that was he was an ambitious man though only when it mainly benefited him the most. Also while there may be distant and little evidence of him really caring about his daughters, he truthfully does love them.
As for why he was in a hurry to marry Lala off. It was to retire as king and finally be free to indulge into his hobbies. Something he mostly already does as he usually tosses it to his wife to deal with unless it catches his attention. Mainly because she is better at politics than he is.
"I remember the times I was offered to be King. A few times to be a god too for that matter." James commented lightly but was ignored by the two.
Patting her lover, Liz wondered how such an ancient being acted like a child. It was slightly funny though since he was trying to one up his son. Only she wasn't going to mention it to him.

While Jason was gaining his diploma, in a lab that was studying the Viltrumite DNA. A man who appeared in his late fifties was conducting a small experiment. He was attempting to inject a small amount into a small mouse. It was theorised that the DNA would take over and slowly convert the mouse's DNA to match it. Well, to a certain percentage, which would hopefully lead to a breakthrough and allow them to gain more to work with.
"How does it go, Dr. Grant?" a young assistant asked.
The young assistant was a man in his twenties with slick back black hair, dark brown eyes and thick frame glasses. Due to personal habits and more so refusal of any form of exercise, he was slightly thicker compared to his leader. Who had short greying hair with a thin body and truthfully if it wasn't for his wife's reminder to eat. It was a miracle the man hasn't died from starvation as once something is on his mind, he gets so focused that nothing around him matters.
"There has been no imminent change in the first test subject." Dr. Grant replied before changing his tone. "Hold on Malk, a change had indeed occurred. The subject's front left paw has begun to twitch."
Under the two gazes, they watched as the mouse began to seizer as it squealed loudly. Finally after a few minutes it went still before becoming activated once more. Under the mouse foot as it took a step inside its cage, a large crack appeared, but did not break the cage.
"Strength. The subject seems to have developed super strength." Dr. Grant grinned happily. It was worth the risk of using a small portion of their very limited supplies. "Grab me a syringe, we should grab a sample to compare for later."
Malk, who was staring at the mouse intently, quickly brought out a syringe from a nearby cabinet. He gained a strange look in his eyes as he looked at the blood sample as if it was gold. Only for it to quickly vanish as he began to write up the latest finding and time.

Back in their soon to be old house as James was out helping Liz organize and pack up her belongings. Jason and Lala were chatting as the television was playing.
"I was meaning to ask but how does your body produce freeze breath?" Lala asked. "Heat vision can be explained since you absorb the solar rays, but your freeze breath?"
While they were watching Smallville, Clark used it to cool down Lois coffee so he could go about doing his Blur thing he has going on. Jason thought about it for a moment before deciding on an answer.
"We don't really know, but the best guess Father and I came up with was our body's way of balancing itself." Jason shrugged.
"Really?" Lala looked at him weirdly. Surely his father could come up with a better idea or kryptonians did at some point.
"Mmm, many have attempted to study this aspect but there has never been a clear reason." Jason explained lightly. For everytime someone thinks they figured it out, either someone would find a fault within the theory or it would be disproved soon after. It probably didn't help as his father continued to grow older with his abilities growing stronger alongside him.
"That is so weird." Lala mumbled.
"Such is life. It would be boring otherwise if we didn't have weird things."
"I guess so." Lala sighed as she focused on the television. "I will say that I like how this Clark and Lois got together compared to the Man of Steel version."
Jason just smiled as he silently agreed.
