"I accept."
The wind around Sou whirled and stirred greatly, making a storm surround Sou's body.
(I could do this using Mana's Authority too, but that will be like sentencing myself to death.)
For those who are thinking 'why?', Sou is facing a Dragon, an ancient one at that, which meant that Sou could not use Mana's Authority as freely as he usually used.
The wind around Sou engulfed Sou's legs and crept up his body, making him look like a knight blessed by the Gods.
(Now for the second phase...)
Hmm... the second phase requires extreme endurance and requires the person in question to not move for some time and I don't think he has time to spare.
Unless...
Crack!
Sou stepped on the charred ground and moved towards the upcoming ranging flames without thinking much. Some might think that it's an absurdity to walk in like that when you are in the middle of a reform, but it was something completely different.
What seemed like an absurdity was actually the key to victory here.
(Condense it, make it disappear...)
Damn. That guy is really doing it...
The air around Sou became separated and a layer thin as paper stuck to Sou's body. The flames touched the thin layer and dissipated in the air like they never existed.
(Yes! Now I just have to reach Drago...)
A short brief of what Sou did. Though it is impossible, Sou just managed to get another Elemental Affinity, Wind to be specific. But getting an Elemental Affinity is not simple. While getting an Elemental Affinity, one's body has to go through some excruciating pains and requires the person in question to have enough patience to let the Element settle in their body. In the case of Wind Element, the person cannot move from their spot because it is near impossible for the Element to settle in a moving body without breathtaking concentration and focus and that person has to endure agonizing cuts all over their body throughout the whole process, and also, the air around them voids out, leaving nothing behind, meaning there would be no oxygen for the person in question. And here comes the twist, Sou exploited the last point to the extreme to get rid of the flames. As we know, flames cannot exist without oxygen, and it's the same for everywhere, no matter the world or dimension... unless I go and make an entirely new world and laws.
(Just a bit further...)
"Guh!"
But Sou was not completely safe. He had to concentrate harder than the combined concentration he has accumulated in his previous and new life. A single falter in concentration may be the cause of his body melting into magma. As he struggled to keep his focus upright and endured the excruciating cuts on his body caused by the settlement process of the Wind Element, he cut his way to the center of the flames- Drago.
(A bit more...)
His lungs were reaching the limit. He knew that his body can't take anymore but he still pushed on. There was something inside who or which was shaking vigorously, telling him to go and save Drago from his misery.
(I have to... at any cost...)
He felt Drago's life at stake here. He was being taken away by some unknown force, to be more precise, an Ancient Dragon.
After a few more stitch steps, he finally reached the source of the flames.
"Yes!"
...
Squish!
.
.
.
The flames died out and in front of Sou stood Drago.
"Huh...?"
Drip...!
Blood drops dripped on the dungeon floor from Sou's sliced-open belly, Drago's sharpened claws deep inside Sou's belly, messing up his insides.
"Gah!"
Drago pulled out his claws and shoved Sou to the ground while licking the thick red blood from his claws like someone who has been left thirsty for an absurd amount of time.
"Blegh!"
Stream of blood continuously ran down Sou's throat out to the floor while Sou writhed in pain on the floor, grasping his grieved wound tightly to stop the blood.
Drago unusually quietly stepped towards the writhing Sou and stopped in front of Sou's legs.
"..."
His cold and hostile gaze pierced a hole in Sou's body like a flaming rode stuck inside one's body.
Sou crept back to survive but it seemed like his fate was sealed from the beginning. Drago raised his bloodied claws and let them drop on Sou's wound like an anvil, making the wound even more grieve.
"MASTER!"
The summons screamed in unison at their master's grief, but what they can do except stand and watch their Master in pain? They are so weak in front of the on-rampage Drago that they would not last for more than ten seconds... It was another thing if Sou was with them too.
"We are... completely useless... against that abomination..."
It was an irrefutable truth which they cannot evade no matter how hard they try. But still, they cannot just stand and watch their master meet his end. They had to act no matter what, after all, if their master dies then that means they won't exist anymore.
Kakund rushed towards Drago while quickly changing into his human form. Mary and Junko followed suit while May supported them with her impeccable magic from the rear
Kakund brushed past Drago with a blade made of lightning sweeping off Drago's waist like a beautiful trail, but it didn't do any imminent damage aside from making Drago flinch a little.
But that was not the end of the barrage. Right after Kakund came Mary pouncing on Drago with her super-strength, jabbing her fist inside Drago's guts to stop Drago's rampage on Sou. But her jab did close to nothing. It was like poking a needle. Drago just ignored the incessant attacks continued to stab Sou who... seems like he was already dead, but in actuality, he was barely breathing and stubbornly holding onto life.
Squish! Swish! Squish!
Seriously, what the hell happened with him which made him this broken?!
But still, the summons continued their struggle to save their master even knowing that it was futile, and now it was Junko's turn.
She came rushing from Mary's back and jumped over Mary to propel herself in the air and rained down hundreds, no thousands of arrows made of lightning and fire both and further boosted by May's impeccable magic on Drago.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
It was impossible to avoid that flurry of arrows. not even Sou could evade them all... at least not now.
The summons backed off quite noticeably and held their breaths in expectations of victory over the disgustingly strong abomination known as Drago.
The dust cleared off and everyone's eyes went pale at the scene.
Squish!
Sou laid on the dungeon floor, his body still and most probably cold and his eyes... blank... not a trace of life.
Haa...
Tring!
