Chapter 2 - Present - 2

They exploded together, their bodies becoming one for a brief moment in time. He collapsed heavily on top of her and released her wrists. He put his hands on both sides of her to push himself off the couch. She wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him back into her.

"Please do not go." His body tensed for a moment but he did not pull against her. She knew she was asking a lot from him. All of these feelings were just as new to him as they were to her. He relaxed back onto her and pushed her hair out of her face with his fingers.

"I do not think I could leave you even if I tried." He put his forehead against hers and let out a heavy breath and she let her fingers slip into his hair.

It was frightening how quickly she had fallen for Jacob. He consumed her. To her, it did not matter now if he was good for her anymore. It only mattered that she was with him.

They spent the rest of the night entangled in each other. As the sun rose, she tried to unwrap their bodies so she could make a fresh pot of coffee.

Jacob's arms tightened around her like a snake, holding her firmly in place.

"Don't leave me," he mumbled into her chest.

"I am not leaving you. I just want to make some coffee," she whispered as she pushed against him.

"You will." From the tone of his voice, it was obvious he was lost in a nightmare. She stopped struggling and kissed the top of his head. She rubbed his back and waited for him to awaken. When he did, he seemed oblivious to the earlier conversation. It was hard to imagine someone like Jacob feeling like he had no control.

The next morning Jacob rubbed his eyes and smiled as he glanced down at Suzy, she guessed he was in a great mood judging with the length of him pressed firmly against her inner thigh.

"It's hard to imagine I am not dreaming." He gave her a quick peck on the lips. It was an innocent gesture, but he lingered and the air around them grew thick with desire.

"If we do not get off this couch soon, we may die of starvation," she joked.

"You are right." He laughed, "I have not eaten in a while."

His eyes narrowed as he slid himself down her body, leaving a trail of kisses along the way. Her hands ran through his hair as her back arched towards him.

"Jacob," she giggled. "We need to get ready for the day."

"Why?" he asked as he nuzzled her inner thigh.

It tickled as she squirmed against him.

"I want you to meet my family."

His head shot up and his eyes locked onto hers.

"I thought you did not want anyone to know about us?"

"I do not think she would tell anyone."

For Suzy, if Jacob wanted to take a big step like marriage, it was only right that he meet her family first. She only wished he could have met his parents first, even if they may not have approved of their relationship.

Jacob slid back up the length of her body and rubbed her cheek with his finger.

"Babe, I will do whatever it takes to be with you."

She wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. His hands tangled in her hair as they lay in each other's arms. She could see them doing this every day for the rest of their lives.

He had become her obsession. Her every thought. She needed him to feel whole. Everything in her life before him was filled with loneliness.

Suzy was filled with happiness that she was worthy of someone's love. Jacob's world revolved around hers even though she still could not understand his affection for her. No one had ever looked at her the way he did. Never touched her the way he did. He was intense and overwhelming, but he was hers and she was his. she loved that feeling of belonging to someone.

She felt safe with him even in the midst of all the chaos that swarmed their relationship. No matter how dominating and controlling he appeared from the outside, she knew better. He was scared to feel, scared to love, and scared to lose.

She would be lying if she said she was not terrified to introduce him to her family. They were judgmental and distant. Regardless of how she responded, she would know that she was worthy of someone's love. She needed him and he needed her to know that she did not need her.

She expected Jacob to be more resistant to the idea of meeting her. She had hoped for it. She knew going through with this would not only put her in her place, but it would make all of this that she had with Jacob real. She was not sure which part of that scared her more.

"Take a nice hot shower. I will cook us some breakfast." Jacob kissed her gently on the forehead and smiled before pushing up onto his elbows and sliding off the couch. She stretched like a cat before taking his hand and allowing him to lift her to her feet.

Regina suddenly became aware of how naked she was and wrapped her arms over her chest. Jacob's eyes raked over the length of her body before grabbing her arm and pulling it away from her breasts.

"Do not hide from me."

She reluctantly let her hands fall to her sides. She chewed on her lip as her eyes danced over his naked form. He placed his fingers under her chin and tilted her face up to meet his gaze.

"You are perfect."

Her face heated with a blush as she tried to fight back a smile.

'What had I done to deserve him?'

Jacob leaned closer, running his lips along her neck up to her ear. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes, letting her head roll to the side to give him better access.

"Go take your shower before I take you into the bedroom and we do not get anything done today," he whispered in her ear.

She nodded and he smacked her lightly across the bottom as she turned towards the bathroom.

She looked over her shoulder and smiled at him before making her way to the other side of the room. The water was hot and felt incredible against her skin. She washed twice, lingering in the warmth as long as she could. All of the stress of taking Jacob to meet her family washed away.

She thought again about them, and what they would say if she would bring home someone like Jacob. Part of her was relieved that he had never pressed the issue about them, but part of her wondered why he did not want to know about her past. Maybe it was because he was too painful.

It took them nearly losing each other before he was able to open up. She wanted to know everything about him. She was sure he must feel the same way.

She turned off the water and grabbed the oversized white towel that hung on a rack beside the shower. She ran it over her body and secured it around herself before stepping out into the main living area.

The apartment was filled with the smell of a delicious breakfast. She smiled as she caught sight of Jacob standing in front of the stove, dishing the last few flapjacks onto a plate on the island.

"I thought I was going to have to come in there after you." He winked and she could not contain her smile.

"I could not help myself. It felt so good." She took a seat at the island as he placed a stack of pancakes on a plate in front of her.

"You even make a shower sound sexy," he joked as he rounded the corner and took a seat next to her.

"This looks amazing!" She cut up her stack of pancakes and reached for the syrup. Jacob's hand shot up and pushed it away. She gave him a frustrated glare and reached for it again. He slid it further down the counter and smirked in her direction.

"I'm sorry, Suzy. I'm going to have to meet your family some other time."
