Chapter 22 - Chapter 21: Blocked

RAM WAS BREATHING IN SHORT BURST OF AIR.

Eventually, it was difficult for him to breathe.

Ram pounded his chest, clutched his neck, hoping that it would enable him to start breathe normally.

It had the opposite effect on him instead.

It felt as if someone were chocking him, as if the air was cut off from him.

Ram's chest tightened, his face becoming red, his mouth open hoping it would enable him to breathe through his mouth.

But none of it worked.

Soon, his vision blurred and he his consciousness was fading away from him, inch by inch.

Just as he was about to lose it completely, everything stopped.

Ram clenched his gut, he fed the fear for his life into to the core that existed just above his navel. The power source or more like reactor for his powers of time and Ram didn't know what he did next. It was like it was blocked from him.

He thought that it was the result of him at the edge of losing his consciousness.

He felt his whole body spread with warmth and soon, Ram reversed the Flow of Time for him. Only for him until he returned to the moment where he started to panic.

He clenched his gut again, feeding the strong panic he felt at this moment into the reactor just above his navel and once again Ram didn't know what he did exactly, but coldness spread all around him, which leaked into the room surrounding him.

Soon, he froze the time around him.

It was then that he observed Elder of Air with a hint of surprise and a dash of horror on her face, staring at him.

He also froze the Flow of Time for Elder of Air.

Ram took huge gulps of air, tried to calm his racing heart.

He couldn't.

So, he took the panic and anger and once again fed it to his reactor, clenched his gut. This time, he observed that his next actions were masked from his consciousness.

Then warmth spread all around his body and he reversed the flow of time for him and as he watched, it took him till he was getting tied to a chair, everything happening in reverse, but stopped when it was just enough to hold the ropes or whatever the thing they used to tie him up held in place.

If Ram exerted just enough force, he was sure that he would be free.

Ram then felt the coldness that was leaked into the room around him, including to Elder of Air, return towards him, flowed through his open pores and back into the reactor, which …

There was a block to his consciousness and finally, the flow of time returned to normal for himself as well as to elder of air.

She gasped, her eyes widened as she stared at him in horror. "What have you done?" she asked.

"Nothing. I am just saving myself. And you don't have to be scared of me. I am an ally of yours and would do anything to save you. All I ask in return is for you to trust me," Ram said.

Elder of Air shook her head. "No. You are Harbinger of Doom. I cannot trust you," she said.

"Please," Ram pleaded.

Elder of Air scoffed. "Just because I am scared of what your arrival meant doesn't mean that I couldn't kill you," she said.

Ram realized with horror that the air around him drop slowly and soon, Ram was choking for air.

He opened his mouth to breath air through mouth, but how could he do that if there was no sign of air around him.

Ram glared at her, despite knowing that she couldn't see him in the darkness.

She was scared of him alright, even to watch her torturing him, to watching his reactions as a result of her torture.

Ram glared at her, hated her with every fibre of his being. He used his anger, as well as the anger he felt towards The Faction of Hope, their Elites, Faction of Realists as well as the Forces of Darkness and tried to feed it to the reactor that was present at his core. But before he could actually do that, air returned all around him.

All the emotions that he gathered dispersed, a backlash returning him with him puking bood on his hands.

Ram stared at his blood in horror and it was then that Ram realized that light flooded all around the room.

Since his head was down, the sudden appearance of the light didn't damage his vision as much as it would've been if he stared at the light when it appeared all of a sudden.

He had more understanding of how his powers worked, but not the whole details. Some process that was actually happening was still blocked form his consciousness. One thing was sure that he could use his powers whenever he wanted.

Right now he wanted to use his powers to reverse the flow of time to remove traces of him puking blood, but he thought for a moment and decided against it.

Let her see him puking blood, to see that he was not someone she should be scared against. And a small part of Ram hoped that she would feel guilty towards him.

Ram straightened himself, looking at Elder of Air by summoning every ounce of acting he could and stared at her like one who had been beaten again and again, despite him not being involved in it in any manner, along with a defeated look.

Elder of Air's eyes trembled, her lips wobbling. And at this moment, Ram realized that her though she seemed not that aged, but her constant worry had left her with creased forehead and worry wrinkles on her face.

Ram sighed. She was a coward at the core of her heart. All she wanted to do was probably to survive in this harsh world. Ram sympathized to her to an extent. "Look, all I want was a chance for me to prove to you that I am not some you should be worried about. I could be your ally, your friend and anything that you wanted me to be if you just open up yourself to me and trust me," he said.

Elder of Air shook her head and it was then that Ram noticed premature grey hairs that the Elder of Air tried to dye and hide amongst her black hairs. "No. You are Harbinger of Doom. Elder of…" she trailed off, her voice trembling. "The Elder from Faction of Realists said informed us that you were dangerous and that you are Harbinger of Doom. We should be wary about you."
