Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: Mass Confusion

"You do realize, we're talking about your mom." Curioso states. "You are on of her kids. Brother's name is Aleigha D. Omehia?"

Recap: I, Deidre Fareware, used to be a simple albino. I lived in an apartment. Until now, I used to tell people I was an orphan, now I'm not. But could be because my mother is dead as well as my dad, and I don't know how dad died. Is he dead?

A worshipper is a vampire fanatic that believes drinking the blood of a vampire... is some holy elixir. My mom was lynched, my brother is a cannibal. There is a realm called the Ghytto where these talking phones come from.

Is that all?

"A lot is being dropped." Thankful is sitting against the head of the bed and I'm at the foot. And there's this Mexican grandma that has hidden ties. "este hijo de puta me esta poniendo de los nervios. Nina quien es el? Kick him out." Curioso retorts. "He may be Childhood's son but if he's this stupid. He can't be on the team. He'll drag us down."

"Exactly what is this plan...?" And who the fuck does she think she is? I didn't ask to be in this shit. "Ok, I'll explain."

Thank you, Thankful. I am so Thankful. She smirks, I need to stop thinking to myself. "This happened in the 1900s. Childhood was about 6 years old. Some say she's actually much older but this is what we know." states Thankful.

"Childhood is a mystery. But during her lifetime, she was regarded as the smartest person alive." Adds Curioso. "Until they found out she was a goddamn vampire and tried to kill her."

"Vampire phobic?" What happened to me? When is that coming up? I ran away from home? I have no memory... my name is... Deidre.

"Close enough," says Curioso. Thankful continues, taking a deep breath. "I'm a lytch. She doesn't like it when I say it but my grandma is the victim of the Uprising in 1969. It happened in New York at the time, a gang was ruling the streets. A gang of vampires."

"To put it simply, I formed a blood sucking gang and turned a bunch of white people into my slaves."

"Why," I ask. "Because madre hijos de puta arrastraron a mi marido!" the phone bounces on the bed. "luego entraron en la casa y me prendieron fuego!"

"Translate." I look at Thankful. She sighs heavily, "You know Emmett Till?"

"He whistled at a white lady?"

"Es una maldita mentira. He didn't whistle at her! The fucking Growden family—goddamn Klan has been telling that shit for years!"

"My grandfather was Natalio Castro."

"Son of Fidel Castro. He's using magic to make himself older." Curioso rings. "You forgot your whole family, haven't you baby? Natalio is your brother, half-brother."

My eyes bug out, from everything I'm hearing, my mom is a hoe. "Because they trained her to be one!" grandmother and granddaughter yell. "Childhood was a pet bat—as they say. When she was young they made her a child prostitute. Estupidos blancos."

"Though!" Thankful interrupts before she can rant. "It's not all white people. The Growden family fucks with magic and even some black people that side with them."

"Tommies," says Curioso. "Uncle Toms... that's what my husband used to say."

"Uncle Toms?"

"Uncle Toms or Tommies are assassins for the Growden family. Another name is the Switches. Ever heard of the Green Belt 9?"

"No," and don't want to meet them. I've heard of Bloods and Crips but this is outrageous. "The Green Belt 9, are basically lynchmen. They used to beat black vampires and Mexican vamps,"

"Ok, ok," I rack my hands down my face, I can't even breathe. "The Green Belt, why is it Green?"

"It's a whip with poison." Says Curioso. "Whipmen use the whip. Tommies use a snake, they whip you across the back with a snakes open jaw."

"They take the bottom jaw off the snake and lash the teeth. This idea came from La Dama Falsa They call her Fake because—"

"Ella usa las almas de los demas. She's my fucking half sister and using the body of our mother and has conditioned my stupid ass son to worship her fucking ugly ass. Juro por dios que si alguna vez recupero mi maldoto cuerpo le prendere fuego en el culo!"

Jesus. "Translate?"

"Fire... and something."

Curioso continues ranting till the point the phone floats and turns green. "She's been wicked her whole fucking life. Ella es una maldita desgracia. This shit goes way back."

"How far?" I ask. "My grandfather, Sebastian was a black Mexican. And knew Fidel, or is Fidel. I'm not sure—"

"El fue asesinado! They dragged his ass! Childhood slept with Fidel and then mass confusion happened. Shit is out of order because of the Cookie Game!"

"What's the cookie game?" I'm so sad. "Slow down."

Thankful grips her head. "Deidre!" she shouts. "The Growden family is manipulating black people, Mexicans, Arabs and Indians by swapping souls!"

Curioso vibrates, a face shows on the screen. "You don't have your memory because your doppelganger has it!"

"When your mother got lynched, you ran away from home and got put into one of the orphanages in Virginia! They swapped you with someone, we're not brainwashed. We're lost!"

Curioso: "We can't find our bodies and the memories are fucked up because of the Growden family and Tommies. It's magic!"

Deidre: ok, so who am I?

Thankful: Aleigha found the body but now we need to find the memory and put you back together.

Curioso: The Growden Clan is a group of racist praisers. They like talking about worshipping vampires. Take off the wor.

Deidre: Shippers?

And then suddenly I got it. "I'm not a barbie doll." My eyes spread apart; I hop off the bed. "THIS ISN'T MY BODY"

"The Growden family is making a collection of people by swapping memories and bodies—"

Curioso: And souls

Thankful: Deidre you don't look like that!

Deidre: do you know me?

Curioso: You're married to my goddamn daughter! Give me back my son-in-law, Unwin!
