Is everything ready?"
"We should go soon!" – shouted Johnson at his assistants, who
were busy in arranging all equipments in the jeep. The Johnson
team started driving in their old jeep on the highway. After driving
3 kilometer from the D-Street, they reached a place which was
covered with dense forest all over.
A perfect ambience of tranquility was pervaded all over the
place. . The whole surrounding was covered with a dense forest.
They found a narrow path which could allow only one person at a
time to walk over it. They got down from the car and enjoyed the
nature. They could behold the magnificent scenery covered with
hills all over. After sometime, they came to know that the hills they
could see were none other than the Picto Hills.
After gathering such delightful experience, the troop
undertook their journey further by walking on the narrow path one
after the other with their necessary equipments adjusting in their
respective bags carried on their backs.
After walking for some distance, they reached a place which
was fully dark and had a gloomy appearance. When Johnson
turned the lamp on, he noticed that they were inside a cave. After
covering some distance carefully in the cave, Johnson jumped with
joy seeing a strange arrow mark carved on the wall of the cave.
"Yes! This arrow mark."
"The temple spot may be nearby," – Johnson said to himself.
The walls of the cave were covered with a strange language carved
on it which Johnson thought to be the cuneiform script as Michael
had earlier said.
Again, they found the same arrow mark which was signifying
them to move straight on their path. They got stunned seeing it
again, after walking for some distance, they got fatigued and sat on
the rocks to take some rest. They rejuvenated themselves to take on
the hardships of the journey ahead by taking some food and
beverages they carried with themselves to strengthen their nerves.
Thereafter, they walked on again – Left, right, right, left, as they
could see the same mark ( ). For a while, Johnson stopped and
stood still where he was with his eyes closed and took a long
breath. He memorized the way they came. Thinking carefully,
Johnson came to know the way they came itself was a shape of an
arrow. So he walked to the cave dividing edge and started digging.
Time Evening 4.00
They were still going on with their work by digging ground.
Meanwhile, some sound was heard. Something touched Johnson
crown bar. Ignoring the sound, all again continued digging and
finally got the view of a strange idol from beneath the ground.
Erlin out of excitement took it out. They felt amazed seeing the
idol. It was an idol of a girl. Its head was lying down, and a baby
girl on her foot fallen with blood smeared all over the mouth. They
all were awestruck to see the image and began to perspire heavily
in panic.
"Erlin, bring the idol with you! – said Johnson.
However, while taking the idol out, they came out of cave and
walked toward their car. Traveling with that idol in their car, they
reached the D-Street, then the place where they had made their
tents for shelter. There, Walter and Sedrick were already waiting
for them to come.
"Walter, we found!" – said Johnson hugging him. They rest
the idol on the table and sat for rest. Johnson started observing it
carefully.
"Walter! See this."
"This is the most precious idol, but it has no value, because it
has drilled for just sign of warning."
"This idol signifies that we reached the temple almost," – said
Johnson.
"I feel like I come to have this image somewhere recently." –
interjected Erlin.
"You are right!"
"The structure of the idol, and the cartage keys are the same,"
- said Walter surprisingly.
"Yeah!"
"I saw this idol structure when I tried to open the cartage
door," – said Johnson.
"Sorry! It‟s getting late. We must leave now," – said Walter.
That evening, both Walter and Sedrick drove to the DStreet.
"Sir!"
"If you don‟t mind, I need to ask you something," – said
Erlin.
"Yes!"
"Any problem" – asked Johnson looking at him.
"Sir!"
"I need three days of leave. I want to go my home." –
requested Erlin. Johnson granted him leave as he requested.
Time Night 7.00 PM
Walter and Sedrick enjoyed a lot on the occasion of Sedrick's
wife's promotion. The clock struck 11.00 at night, as it was getting
too late for Walter, he went back home.
Morning 9.00
The next morning, Walter and Sedrick went to the Highway Bar to
meet Johnson. They greeted Johnson who was in the guest room at
the Highway Bar.
"Oh!"
"Hi Walter!"
"Hello, Sedrick!"
"Come, be seated."
"Stephen is in the wash room" – said Johnson insisting them
to sit.
"Where is Erlin?"
"I do not see him here," – questioned Sedrick.
"Erlin is on leave."
"He will be back in three days."
"We will continue our work," - said Johnson to Sedrick. After
sometime, they had their breakfast and headed toward the highway
- excavation spot.
They seriously discussed about the route map and further
details.
"Walter! We will continue our excavation in the Picto Hills
today."
"I hope, we will find the temple," – said Johnson.
Time Morning 10.00
All the members in one jeep travelled to Picto Hills. They parked
their car and as usually started walking toward their destination.
They got inside the cave and put the torch on. Moving the torch
here and there, they saw blood on the floor. Everyone was shocked
and terrified. They quickly walked to the digging spot and found a
dead body lying over there.
"Erlin!!!!" – shouted Stephen crying.
Everyone was surprised knowing that the dead body was of
none other than Erlin's. Walter was speechless and could not figure
out who was behind this heinous crime. No one was able to accept
the fact lying in front of their eyes that their friend was no more
with whom they had spent time talking a few hours ago.
"Ok. Leave it!"
"Everything happens for God‟s sake, those who is accused
they should be dead someday or the other," – said Johnson.
"You. Johnson?"
"This is not good to hear such words from you," - angered
Walter listening at Johnson's words.
"Walter! Erlin asked me for a leave, but he actually wanted to
steal the treasure, came alone here at night to dig for the temple,
unluckily, some stone might have fallen on him and he was found
dead here," – said Johnson.
"You don‟t worry!"
"I will hand over his body to his family and will give them
accidental claim money," – said Johnson. Walter left the cave
silently when he heard Johnson's words.
"Walter! Don‟t worry."
"Johnson will take the responsibility."
"Who can expect the death?"
"Right. Leave it," – said Sedrick to Walter, who was sitting on
a stone.
When Johnson and Stephen returned, everyone was left for the
Highway Bar. They kept their luggage and were about to go.
Walter and Sedrick left for the D-Street. While they were driving
to the D-Street ….
"Erlin is no more Walter!"
"I can‟t believe that he is not there," – said Sedrick silently.
"It looks like, Erlin has not died because of stones, I think
someone killed him cruelly, I saw some skin pealed out on Erlin‟s
neck and some strange marks on his legs".
"Surely, someone might have dragged him to cave and
killed," – said Walter.
They reached to the D-Street main gate.
"Morning, Sir!"
"How is your work?" – asked Michael opening the gate seeing
Walter's face.
Walter was just silent and did not utter a single word. Michael,
for the first time, saw tears in Walter's eyes. He immediately
walked to him.
"What Sir! Anything happened?" – asked Michael.
"Erlin is no more. He is dead," – said Sedrick.
Meanwhile …. Johnson called Walter.
"Walter!"
"We are taking Erlin back, will you be able to meet?" – asked
Johnson and ended the call. Michael requested earnestly to see
Erlin. So they took him to the cartage, where they could see
Johnson's car was about to move. Michael grieved when he last
saw Erlin's dead body; he almost began to cry bitterly like a kid.
Time Afternoon
Johnson moved his car forward. They started driving to Sweden to
give over Erlin's body. When they left the place, after sometime,
Michael saw Walter got surprised as it was unexpected on his part.
"What Michael?. "
"What happened?" – asked Walter.
"Walter! Do you remember what I used to say to Erlin that I
saw him somewhere. Now I remembered, one person for the first
time who came to the D-Street to ask me about the tunnel.
Everyone said that the person died. The person whom I met for the
first time is none other than Erlin!!
