|Ethan's POV|
°°°°°°
It's a female, a human- I suppose, though I could barely hear her screams over mine.
To say I'm absolutely terrified would be a terrible understatement, this is freaky, like freaky on level one.
For a moment we wrestle on the floor amidst our screams, I have no idea what I'm doing with all my actions panic induced as she claws at my neck, then hair, all the while whimpering and screaming from time to time.
Then she pushed me off with her..... hands!.
Oh! Thank God it's human.
I fall to the floor on my behind, hurting it quite badly, and use my hand and knees to convey myself as far as possible from this weird- human. From here I can see the distinct movements of her silhouette, I watch intently, oddly more curious than scared now.
She slowly sits up, now quiet, her head turns from side to side frantically,
I move slowly backwards, carefully gauging her reactions, as soon as my back hits the wall, I slowly raise myself up, not wanting to make any sudden movements-
She scurries on her knees and arms to the corner of the roomIn a quick motion, with a quest to feed my curiosity, I flick the switch.
The bulb turns on, illuminating the room, I turn back to the girl in question, and little to say, it's nothing I imagined-
She looks about my age, a bit younger with an overly skinny physique. I try in all angles to get a peek at her face, but in vain as her whole face is covered with her mass of curly hair.
It covers her face so perfectly you'd think she did it on purpose, she raises her head a little and from behind a few strands of her hair I catch a glimpse of her one of her eyes before she looks down again.
It's a perfect blend of blue and green and it immediately has me captivated and enthralled the immediately wanting to know more, I take a few strides towards her and I pause to gauge her reaction she pushes further into the wall and her breaths quickens.
She quakes like a leaf in the wind, her breaths coming more like gasps now-
Scared, terrified.
"Sweetie What's going on there I heard screams" my mum calls out most likely still downstairs.
I turn to scream back that it's nothing but before I can open my mouth I hear quick shuffles behind me- startled, I turn immediately but only see the curly ends of her hair as the rest of her is already out the window, I watch in amazement as she jumps in through the one right next door.
Huh?
I step on a thin blanket on my way to the window to get a better view, I hear the sound of something being crushed beneath my right foot, I look down to see that I had in fact stepped on some pills-
There on the floor of the room, an open container tipped over with tiny pills scattered not to far from it, a blanket and a half packed backpack are sprawled, the purple blanket however catches my eye and I pick it up I stare at it intently while tracing it with my finger, it looks old and faded, and way too small to be used by someone her size, below a name is embroidered on the blanket in an intricate design.
Ana
It looks kinda expensive, could she have stolen it? Is she homeless, how long has she lived here. My train of thoughts are interrupted by heart stopping screams, quite identical to the ones I heard.
Aah, into someone else's room aye?
Poor girl.
I decide to forget about the strange girl and not get myself entangled in any more messes, I turn to leave the room to see what my mum is up to.
But the screams don't stop, if anything they get louder and more heart wrenching as if pain induced.
I stop in the right at the window, utterly lost and confused at what to do, my logical mind is reminding how many times I've fallen for such tricks and advising me to walk away.
But...but her screams are louder than my subconscious, calling out for help.
Then I hear a masculine scream.
I'm torn.
Anabella's POV|
°°°°°
I'm barely awake, I had only woken up few minutes ago , I have no idea what had woken me up. It's Saturday, I have nothing important to do today except assignments.
My eyes are still droopy as I turn of the battery powered flashlight and shove it into my back, I had only unpacked one cloth last night and I proceed to stuff it into my bag hurriedly, I have no idea why I'm in such a hurry,
I actually planned to stay here for a while until he calms down, then cook him his favorite meal of a full roasted chicken, Even if I know it'll touch my savings, I'm used to it- as they say "the way to a man's heart is his belly".
But I have this gut feeling that things won't go as expected, it's an instinct embedded in my very being, so I ignore it. I lazily stand up, grabbing my blanket, I begin to fold it- I drop it in apprehension as my ears perk up at a sound-
Footsteps!
Could my ears be deceiving me?
I struggle to pick up my blanket as the footsteps get louder and nearer,
The lock begins to make sounds, keys jingling from the other side of the door, I gasp, taking one step back before my entire body freezes, panic overtakes my entire being.
My eyes begin to search frantically for a hideout, unfortunately finding none.
The room is still not bright enough, hopefully there's still a power outage. I fall to the floor, lying as flat as I can, though I know, it's a stupid move, my panic overtaken brain can't conjure up any other move.
The door opens, I try to quieten my heavy breaths as I hear footsteps walk into the room, by the quick and long strides I know it's a guy, my eyes are tightly shut, my ear being the only useful sense organ presently.
My heart beats hard against my chest, I feel adrenaline rushing through my entire body-Did they find me? I'm going to die!
Then suddenly, he trips and his whole weight is on me... And he is heavy, he must be big.... A father? Teenager?
My heartbeat rate increases, more adrenaline pumps through my veins eliciting involuntary movements going along with my screams, I had no idea my lungs and vocal cords possessed such forbearance.
I kick, push, I squirm and struggle, an all too familiar routine for me except, unlike other times I actually succeeded as he falls off me with landing on the floor beside me he moves back immediately.
I quiet down immediately, didn't he come to harm me? Why is he moving away, I run to the opposite corner of the room, I pull my knees to my chest in attempt to comfort myself, I bend my head, my hair falls around me like a curtain.
Then suddenly the room brightens, I gasp not anticipating it, I look up, the light bulb! He can see me! And so can I, so I do.
He's not bad on the eyes, like a normal girl my age, I should probably be checking him out, but me, being me, instinctively, I'm gauging the amount of physical harm he can bring to me with that muscular body of his.
I catch his eyes, obviously blue even from the distance, I look down immediately covering my whole face once more, one of the reasons I keep my hair long.
Then I hear the footsteps again, echoing throughout the empty room, heading towards me!
Dear lord. It's over,
I press myself further into the wall, hoping by some bizarre turn of events, it sucks me in, and away from here.
Then, bless heavens!- someone yells from a distance probably for him as he turns for a split moment giving me the chance I need to escape.
Leaving everything behind, I rush, jumping through both windows, I enter my room.
I gasp, taking one frightened step back as soon as I enter my room, I start to wonder if I went from frying pan to fire .
He turns around smiling at me in a way that scares me more than physically possible, a tear- fear induced falls out of my eye,
He's more than angry this time, he's livid-
And there's no escape this time.
