Chapter 3 - aimless

The holiday was very eventful, it was filled with heartwarming moments and parties, jason loved every bit of it, everyone had returned to their various habitat however jason and his mum decided to hang around, his mother wanted to savor her time in Dubai with her husband, they went out and they had some special moments just like the old times, she really did miss her husband.

His mother spent two weeks with her husband before leaving for Nigeria while he spent a month before leaving for another country, he left for Nigeria, his mother's country. At one stage in life, there's a need for a personified force who is the source of inspiration, Jason finds himself in that stage, there's a space that need to be filled up.

Wandering around, no aim, no destination, he just knows he's in search of something, a muse?, his mind isn't at ease, his night strolls were no longer effective, he needed to talk to someone, his mum has always been his shoulder to lean on, with that in mind he leaves for Nigeria. His arrival in Nigeria took his mum by surprise cause he didn't tell her about him visiting.

Though she saw him during new year, she still embraced him like they haven't seen in years, she welcomed him in Yoruba, "omo mi, kaabo" my child, welcome. Jason felt really ecstatic, with a beaming smile, his mother asked him the reason for his unexpected visit.

"Can't I come and visit my mother in her house", he said.

"Sure you can", she said blissfully.

"You see.....", he said with a relieved look.

"Hmmn, why do i feel like you have something to tell me?", she said.

"You think I do?", he said.

"Speak", she said with a voice filled with authority.

"Fine mother, I do have something to tell you", he said with a sigh.

"I knew it, tell me, I'm all ...", they were interrupted by a knock on the door, with a voice filled with irritation, she answered.

"What is it Folake",she said to her personal assistant who is also a friend of Jason.

"Ma, I heard Jason is around", she answered excitedly

"Hey Folake", Jason answered through the closed door.

"Jason!!, Jason!, oh my goodness, it's really you, i've missed you Jason, how have you been?!, you took everyone by surprise, I didn't believe it when the driver told me, wow it's really you, it's been almost a year since we saw you last, she added in Yoruba, "ki le mu bo fun wa", meaning what did you bring for us, hope the journey wasn't stressful, should I prepare something for you..."

"That's enough Folake", Jason's mother interrupted her with a sigh, her hyperactive assistant never disappoints. Excuse us Folake, Jason would come to you when we're done with our discussion.

"okay ma", she replied.

She focused back on Jason and she said "back to what we were discussing earlier, you were saying?".

"Oh yes, that, um mother, the thing is ...., *he changes the topic and says*, mother I'm very tired can I at least rest first then we'll continue our discussion after that.

She looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze, adjusts her reading glasses and she said, "fine, as you wish, should I tell the maid to prepare something for you?".

"Yes that would be lovely", he replied.

She smiled and said in a sotto voce, what is this boy up to this time, with a heavy sigh she went to her room to video call her husband, after a few rings he picks up," my queen" he said after picking up, "my one and only bad boy" she said with a blush, they both burst into laughter.

"You wouldn't believe it babe, your son is in my house here", she told her husband. " Which one of them?" he asked, "the big baby of course", she answered, "you mean Jason?" he asked, "who else?" she replied, he burst into laughter and asked "what is he looking for in Nigeria?", "I don't know, but I know he's up to something" she replied, "all these children like to disturb my wife" he said with a sad look, she smiled and said "they are our children", he replied, "how's my habibti doing, talk to me, I've missed you already", she smiles and starts to narrate all her encounters since she left Dubai.
