Chapter 13 - ch 13

I didn't understand how a parent could easily ignore their children's behavior instead of correcting it that just seemed so negligent if a child is allowed to run wild all their life they end up growing into adults with no self control that do say things with no regard for others believing that they are invincible until they come face to face with a harsh reality.

As a man of virtue I can forgive those who have done me wrong but also as a man of virtue I must guide those that have gone astray back to the right path as they say to spare the rod is to spoil the child.

Rick:"Now that you seem to finally understand the situation that you are in do you have anything to say?"

for some reason a realization seems to dawn on him before a condescending smile forms on his face as if he had figured something out

Frederick:"I see what you are trying to do you can't actually do anything to me so you want me to back off so that you can assert some power over me too bad I saw right through your facade now untie me before I lose my temper and punish you worse than what I am already going to do"

Rick:"I don't know how you came to that conclusion but unfortunately for you; your sorely mistaken I was going to discipline you either way to make you understand how to act so you no longer imitate a rabid goblin with your behavior" fear on his face Frederick began to shout

Frederick:"You can't! once they see what you plan to do to me you'll be expelled!"

Rick:"That is only if they can see what I will do to you after I am done and don't worry I said this was discipline not revenge so once I think you learned your lesson the pain will stop"

Frederick:"Why are you doing this!" fear plaguing his features and anger in his voice

Rick:"I'm doing this because pain is an efficient teacher and don't look at me like that this was all your doing had you not acted like a wild animal I wouldn't have to treat you like one using the fastest method to brake an unruly creature beating them until they understand their place"

Frederick:"You can stop I understand I was wrong just stop!"

Rick:"Words won't work with me I see it in your eyes that if I were to let you go you would seek revenge I have no choice but to hurt you until you will no longer even think of it that the very concept will fill you with fear don't worry I'll know when to stop I could tell you that I won't take any pleasure from this and before my awakening I couldn't but now that would only be a lie"

The next morning I woke up feeling refreshed in comfy bed looking out the window for some reason the academy seemed a little brighter to me the grass seemed greener the air more refreshing I had about two days before classes started so I decided to go for a stroll after Lilly brought me breakfast nothing complicated just scrambled eggs and toast with honey she tidied up then helped me change to start the day as I left I stepped over an unconscious Frederick surrounded by a few empty potion bottles and they bloody cane I used to educate him even though the room smelled of blood he hadn't a single wound on his body in fact skin seemed healthier than before seeing that I had nothing on my agenda I decided to tour the area to see if I could find something interesting maybe the local markets would have something interesting.

The nearest student town seemed almost like a tourist destination with upperclassmen setting up stalls trying to sell various things from enchanted gear to self made magitech items a few were working as recruiters for various clubs and alliances but one in particular caught my eye in a more secluded area away from the attention of most was an alchemist alliance but that wasn't what was unique as there were others some seemingly better funded but yet this one seemed to stand out for me instead of having shiny baubles and potions they seemed more focused on other aspects of alchemy...
