As there is no backing out of this now I decided to be bold as hell and try and absorb it as quickly as possible the moment it activates before it can start releasing it's dangerous chaotic energies of course the timing for that to have a remote chance of working was extremely hard to predict if I try to soon it might try drain my body and soul for it's development which in the best case would leave me crippled possibly brain damaged worst case it would kill me (which would be the best case in my opinion) the problem was each dungeon core is unique making it nearly impossible to tell when it was ready.
Being that the window of opportunity was so small and timing being everything I immediately cleared my mind of anything not related to my current predicament I thought back to everything I knew about dungeons which were natural spawning grounds for all sorts of creatures from myths and legends and varied greatly sometimes whole civilizations could be found inside with no one knowing where and how it appeared there but one thing seemed to be a constant in all dungeons is that they always have something to lure people and they always grow faster from the death of those who enter their domain.
I watched the dungeon core in my hands began to come alive trying to siphon the mana all round me and began to take on a purple glow and I began to feel it's presence unlike ordinary catalyst this felt truly alive I could feel something akin to a pulse even though it was still made-up of some sort of crystalline matter but seemed to be growing looking into the dungeon core it was like watching the beginning of creation it was nothing short of stunning noticing that it was about to reach out with it's chaotic energies I immediately began to absorb it hopping that the ritual would help me conquer the dungeon core without dying.
At first I felt invincible like a god as if I could bend the world around me to my whim but that feeling lasted barely five seconds before all I felt was excruciating pain but I hardened my will as I didn't want my family to caught up in this because of my weakness I thought that if I could somehow power through the pain I would be able to overcome it and take control but I was wrong after a while the pain just kept getting worse yet there was still no change I just wanted my suffering to end I didn't care how even if it meant dying anything was better than this!
I don't know how long I was suffering for but it seemed to go on forever I just wanted it stop and I was willing to give almost anything to make it happen regardless of what it would mean for others what was I even thinking trying to save others when I didn't have the strength to protect myself given the opportunity I would make whomever was responsible for pay for my suffering and I don't care who they are and what they think is important no they have taken from me and I am owed I will have my revenge I will ensure the absolute worst hell possible for them.
Before I knew what was going on I woke up in my soft and comfy bed and I nearly ended up crying because I thought that was going to be my forever but then I remembered that I was set up someone had sabotaged my awakening ceremony in order to kill me and my family and I wanted revenge *crash* I turned my head only to see a maid who was shocked upon seeing me awake and dropped a tray she was carrying.
maid:"Young master....you...you are awake!" the very next second she bolted out the door "LORD! LADY! THE YOUNG MASTER RICHARD IS AWAKE! LOrd! Lady!" she was running down the hallway screaming for my parents!
It wasn't long before they burst into the room my mother with tears in her eyes my father was right behind her worry clear on his face as they raced over to me.
Mom:"Oh my sweet baby are you okay!?"
dad:"My son are you alright what happened was there an accident during your awakening?"
Rick:"I am fine now mom and dad but what happened during my awakening wasn't an accident"
my father put hand on my mother's shoulder to help her calm down as she set up a barrier to block prying eyes and ears
dad:"What exactly do you mean and be very specific we need to know what happened"
Rick:"During my awakening ceremony when I pulled out my catalyst I found that it was switched out with a dungeon core in order to prevent it from destroying everything and transforming our home into a dungeon I carried out the awakening ceremony using the dungeon core doing my best to time it's activation to prevent it from killing me in the process"
