It was a bright and sunny day on Kepler 452B. People of kepsten could be seen, going about their day as normal. It had been years since they had left earth and, 12 years to be exact. Sociality had adapted to their new lives and home.
Although their new lives weren't nearly as technologically advanced as they used to be back on earth, people had still gotten used to it.
After the war, the human population had dwindled by roughly 6.7 Billion. Most of the humans that remained had joined PRIMA as they had no other choice. Some however fled. Kepler 452B had a population of roughly 400 million people. They were divided between 3 countries. Kepsten, Erden, and Alken.
These countries were exactly the same as countries before the creation of the A.I. Kepler 452B was rich in ores and minerals however humans didn't know how to extract or use them. Education had also taken quite a massive blow as many scientists decided to stay back on Earth. The new humans had to start from square one. All they had was the ship that they used to get to Kepler.
but still, they had made quite a lot of progress and had somehow managed to bring their lives back to the level they were at in 2020
back in Kepsten, a young boy no older than 9 could be seen running down the street, bumping into people.
"HEY! WATCH IT YOU BRAT!" A man yelled but the young boy showed no signs of stopping. He had a round face, black hair and blue eyes, he wore a school uniform and a bright smile that could melt hearts.
After minutes of running the boy finally stopped in front of a building to catch his breath and then continued running into the building.
"No running inside, Max" a middle-aged man spoke in a gentle tone with a smile on his face.
"I'm sorry Mr Phil I won't do it next time" Max yelled as he continued running into the stairwell.
*Sigh* "That kid never listens"
The building was 7 stories high, and Max lived on the third floor. Max finally came to a stop in front of apartment number 4 and jumped up to ring the doorbell. he kept jumping and ringing the doorbell until a feminine voice could be heard from inside saying
"I'm coming, I'm coming, hold your horses, Max"
The door opened to reveal a woman in her mid-30s, her name was Ava, she wore a blue apron, had brown hair and didn't look her age at all she could easily be mistaken for someone in their early 20s.
"Mom! Mom! guess what happened today?" Max said enthusiastically
"Hmmm, what happen today?" she asked playfully
"I got an A+ in mineralogy"
"That's great! I knew you would get an A+ your dad is a mineralogist after all"
"Yup! he taught me everything I needed to—*GROWL*
know" Max's stomach let out an almighty growl, all that running made him quite hungry not to mention he was already quite a foodie
Upon hearing the growl max's mother burst into laughter "You and silly little tummy, come on, I made us some lunch" she said as she walked back into the kitchen to grab some plates.
Their apartment was a small one with only one bedroom where Max, his parents and his little brother lived. They were a happy little family.
Max approached the dining table and sat down "Where's Alex?" he questioned
"You know Alex, he's such a sleepy head"
"Well? wake him up then, we'll eat lunch together"
Shortly after, a little boy who was drowsy "g'morning big *Yawn* brother"
Alex was a four-year-old who had black hair and brown eyes and resembled his brother in more way than one.
"How's your arm?" he asked as he sat down on the chair next to Max
"OH yeah, my arm" he replied he had almost forgotten about it.
"oh my, I forgot to ask max im sorry, but how is your arm? it seems good as new to me" Ava asked, she looked quite disappointed in herself for forgetting something so traumatic.
_______
four days ago, on the 31st of October, was Max's birthday he was now 9 years old, but sadly he didn't get to celebrate his birthday because he had fractured his arm due to a drunk motorcyclist. Lucky his the fracture wasn't too severe and it was more of a flesh wound but it was still traumatising for Max's parents.
Max on the other hand was more upset about his birthday.
________
"It's fine mom, it doesn't even hurt anymore the medicine that the doctor gave me works really well"
One thing that benefitted mankind greatly was the advancements made in the medical industry, this was obviously due to B-16's help. The ship that they came to Kepler with had a lot of medical supplies that chemists were able to reverse engineer.
However, the medicine that the humans and CROSS currently had was nothing compared to what PRIMA had they could easily heal torn limbs and broken bones with just one pill. They could even extend their lifespans.
"I'm glad," Ava said feeling less guilty
"Great! Max is doing better but I'm STARVINGGG! can we please eat?" Alex groaned
"Alright Alright-" Just as they were about to eat a knock was heard at their door *KNOCK KNOCK*
"Dad! Its dad he's home!" Alex yelled as he jumped from his seat to open the door
"NO, ALEX, STOP, DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!" Ava Yelled
Kepsten wasn't as rich as the other countries on Kepler 452b and so robberies were quite common, not so common in apartment buildings, but still, no one can be too safe.
Alex froze in his path, he had never heard his mother yell so loudly
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* the knocks intensified
"OPEN THE DOOR, THIS IS CROSS, I REPEAT OPEN THE DOOR OR WE WILL USE FORCE" A loud and menacing voice boomed through the apartment.
