Pariah?
Emerson looked over coldly. It was a stranger, so he did not have much of an impression of him.
"It's really you!"
Lucius Myron pushed through the crowd and walked in front of Emerson. Lucius' tall body cast a shadow, completely covering him.
There was surprise on his face. He was extremely surprised, as if he had never thought that Emerson would appear here.
"Who are you?" Emerson asked indifferently, as though he did not take him seriously at all.
Such a move made Lucius extremely angry. A pariah dared to be so arrogant in front of a genetic warrior like him. He thought Emerson must have a death wish.
However, such an abnormal action made him think of something.
He heard that recently, a batch of drugs that could increase one's strength had appeared in the black market of Iron City. It could disguise one as a genetic warrior, allowing ordinary people to get a tier 9 genetic warrior identity card.
However, the price of these drugs was expensive, and it would cause sequelae, causing one to fall ill and age prematurely. In serious cases, it would even affect one's lifespan.
Unless that guy was forced into a corner, or else an ordinary person would not have chosen these drugs.
Lucius subconsciously connected the reason for Emerson's appearance to these drugs.
Thinking of this, Lucius sneered. "You forgot about me? It seems that Sam didn't teach you enough."
As soon as he finished speaking, Emerson immediately narrowed his eyes.
Sam was one of the scums that he had killed not long ago.
Before they came to harass Lucy, that group of people had visited them many times, but they were scared off by Emerson's desperate fighting style. Hence, they did not succeed in harassing Lucy.
Later, perhaps Emerson had pushed the them too far, and when he was not paying attention, they tied him up in an alley and beat him up violently.
Their attacks were extremely ferocious, and they were practically beating him to death.
Luckily, a good man passed by and asked for help. Otherwise, Emerson might have died in that alley.
It was also because of that incident that made Emerson make up his mind to obtain power and get out of his current predicament.
Therefore, he prepared food for half a month and left it at home, telling Lucy not to go out while he secretly went to the dark forest at night to find a way to become stronger. Even if it was something that could be sold for a lot of money, it could also help them leave the slums.
However, he did not expect that he had obtained the system by accident.
He did not expect that all of this was created by Lucius.
It seemed that someone gave orders at that time, and the voice was very similar to Lucius.
"You ordered them to hit me back then?" Emerson asked.
"So what if I did?"
Lucius did not take Emerson seriously at all. Then, he got closer and lowered his voice as he spoke, "If I wasn't busy improving my power these 2 days and didn't have time to find trouble with you, do you think your sister would still be here?"
In an instant, Emerson clenched his fists as the anger in his chest kept accumulating.
He was filled with killing intent.
Upon seeing Emerson keep his mouth shut, Lucius thought that he was afraid and was very proud. "Don't think that I don't know what dirty tricks you used to get an identity card. Let me tell you, you're a pariah. You're a pariah forever. No matter what method you use, you won't be able to change the lowly genes in your bodies!"
Lucius spoke very loudly, and the people around him heard him clearly.
Instantly, the way they looked at Emerson changed slightly.
Only the staff member stood out and looked coldly at Lucius. "If you have any issue with him, settle it on the arena. You dare to make a scene here? What kind of place do you think the testing area is?"
Lucius was stunned. "Sir, he's..."
"Don't you understand what I'm saying?" The staff member stared at Lucius angrily.
Lucius did not dare to say anything else. He lowered his head and returned to his team. However, before he left, he gave Emerson a slitting-throat hand gesture.
Emerson did not take Lucius' provocative action to heart. He would not care about what a dead man wanted to do.
However...
Emerson then smiled at the middle-aged staff member to express his gratitude.
The staff member was obviously helping him out. He should appreciate his help.
Who would have thought that the middle-aged man did not even look at Emerson as he was busy registering their names.
"Next, Lucius Myron."
The middle-aged man raised his head expressionlessly and looked at Lucius. "Which test are you going to do?"
"Tier 8 strength test. I want to challenge the limit board for 5,000 pounds," Lucius said confidently.
The people around him immediately burst into laughter. It was obvious that they did not think highly of him.
"You want to challenge the limit board? I'm dying of laughter."
"That's right. Those who don't know might think that he's a fool. He wants to break Viscount Green's record?"
"Hahahaha, I've seen many people who overestimate themselves. This is the first time I've seen such a dumb person."
Instantly, a look of embarrassment appeared on Lucius's face. "What are you all laughing at? What are you all laughing at? If you are not satisfied, come out and fight with me later!"
"Boo!"
Everyone booed. They were too lazy to bother with Lucius.
The limit board was a ranking created by the Indigo Empire for the purpose of collecting data on all levels of genetic warriors.
It was different from the ranking of genetic points. That list was designed to find top-notch warriors among all levels of genetic warriors.
Viscount Green was one of the outstanding ones.
500 years ago, when he was 16 years old, he had scored 5,000 pounds on the limit board. Until now, no one had been able to surpass him.
Naturally, Lucius did not have the ability to do so. He only wanted to provoke Emerson. He wanted Emerson to make a fool of himself.
Very quickly, he passed the test. As expected, he did not break the record.
Lucius's data was - Strength Gene 131 points. Lifting weight 1,450 pounds.
During Viscount Green's test, his Strength Gene had already reached the limit of tier 8 by reaching 280 points. He was about to break through to tier 7.
In comparison, even if Lucius's data doubled, the difference was still 2,000 pounds. It was too big of a difference.
However, compared to most of the tier 8 genetic warriors, Lucius was considered pretty good. He was above average. No wonder Lucius dared to speak so arrogantly.
After the test ended, Lucius did not leave. Instead, he walked to Emerson's side and smiled contemptuously.
"Since you want to become a genetic warrior and get rid of your current situation, then prove it to me."
As Lucius spoke, he took out a small bag from his waist. "If you surpass me, you can choose any piece of meat in here."
Emerson glanced at it. Inside the bag were all kinds of smoked meat from mutated creatures. Among them, there was a piece of fire elemental meat that he had never eaten before.
"I want all of it."
Emerson said coldly. It was impossible for him to reject it. After all, he had nothing to lose.
When Lucius saw that Emerson had fallen for the bait so easily, he immediately burst into laughter. "Hahahaha, okay, okay. If you win, you can take all of it."
Emerson ignored him and silently queued up as he waited for his turn.
Soon, it was his turn.
"Which test are you going to do?" The middle-aged man asked kindly.
Emerson thought for a moment.
"Tier 8 strength test. Tier 9 agility test. Tier 9 physical type. Hmm... as for the data... I don't know. I'll test as many as I can."
As soon as Emerson finished speaking, the group of people looked at him as if he was a monster.
