Chapter 14 - Chapter 13

I called Dad and in my fear I dialed the wrong number a few times. In the end I had to call Nine One One and they were kind enough to patch me through. He said he will sort this out. I was not moving out. He is the one who is going to leave and that was final. My hands were trembling. I was fidgeting the entire time he was on the phone. He promised to move me if things get bad. Aunt Vera kindly took care of everything. She proved to the court that Milo was a hardened criminal and that he shouldn't be out and about since he had committed eight counts of first degree murder. She tried to keep me out of it but in the end I had to testify.

Milo saw me in the courthouse and he stared at me with intense hatred. He wanted me to pay for the years he was incarcerated in solitary confinement. The screamer was there as well. He was shocked that his uncle did this. He partially understood why I was avoiding him like the plague. Not to mention I had warned the maid to keep him out. The court saw my condition and ordered that my personal information be kept redacted. The look he gave when he saw me was enough for the judge to arrest him. In the end he was escorted back to prison. The screamer came to talk but I made sure to reach the elevator before he got close.

The next morning the screamer and a female friend crossed the street and saw the cable guy throwing the TV. It was smashed so he guessed a new TV was installed. He kept insisting on investigating the new changes made to the house. I had to remind him. This ain't his grandma's house. He acted like a big baby so I told him I didn't give birth to him so I am not responsible for him nor am I his responsibility. He gave me a dirty look before he left. His friend apologized and followed him. He sat on his porch and kept staring at my house. The woman tapped his shoulder and he walked in.

I sat to watch the Townsend family return home after their second son Henry's bone marrow surgery. The youngest looked like he was in bad shape. He should be in pathetic shape. Jeffrey was the donor. He didn't ask for it. The parents were forcing him to do it. He was frightened into it. He has a fear of the anesthetics they used. He told me he felt like he was suffocating. They lied to him and said they were going out for ice cream. His uncle was already talking to the courthouses to liberate him. I counted to five and the police arrived with child services to take him away. Mr. and Mrs. Townsend were screaming as the kid was escorted away to stay with his uncle. This is going to be an awful week. The parents were already calling their lawyers and they were trying to get him back. But the uncle was an influential lawyer and he got his way. The kid was adopted by another relative and moved away. Mrs. Townsend had an accident and now she can't have children. This meant everything was riding on Jeffrey. Since he had explained his painful experience the court rules in his favor. Saying that donating organs must be done willingly and not forced. So he was removed from the family. Since the judge ruled in his favor they had to line up for the donor list like everyone else. This was done after Jeffrey had come back to collect a few of his belongings. His mother yelled that he was the reason his older brother was going to die. The kid walked out wishing that he never existed. He dissolved into tears in his uncle's arms. The man escorted him to his new family and they left the city immediately. It turns out to be Henry's idea. He wanted to die but Jeffrey wanted to donate. He was ready to face the nightmare of the months in agony at the hospital if it meant his brother would come home. Henry couldn't live with the fact that his brother had to suffer so he could live. So he stopped taking his meds. The entire neighborhood had to hear the tantrum for months before it dialed down.
