Despite his tiny shoulder, Yu Zhe had managed to carry the youngster until he reached the end of the narrow path.
The man had already closed his umbrella and his clothing was soaking wet because of the heavy rain. He looked at the tall fence for a while before he kicked it opened.
A wide patio welcomed his eyes. The manor was not huge but it was unexpectedly intact and descent! It was also clean and there were even flowers blooming on every corner of the fence.
"Wow! You can never judge something based on the outside appearance! How can those people call this place as hunted and cursed?" Yu Zhe stated and continued to walk towards the main door.
Moments later, he placed the youngster on the floor and looked at the cabinet for towels and a blanket.
"Hehe, it was a false alarm! I am not scammed!" Yu Zhe became overjoyed as he found the cabinets to be full of things. His initial thought of being scammed by the auctioneer became clear.
He grabbed a towel and covered the unconscious youngster. Then, he swiftly entered a door that led him to the bedroom.
"What curse? What ghost? Hehehe, this place is just perfect," Yu Zhe hummed while changing his clothes. He felt silly for himself to believe in the two locals that had warned him about the manor. How can it be haunted when the place looked well-managed!
Not long after he went back to the youngster and put a small pill in his mouth. Within a blink of an eye, the youngster made a series of sounds of coughing.
"Ouch, ow, ah!" the youngster groaned in pain when he tried to move his body.
"Oh, come on! How can you be this weak?! That is just minor bruises and not an injury. Those men gave you punches and kicks but it did not damage your internal organs," Yu Zhe rolled his eyes. He had seen too many types of patients and this youngster could not even be considered as a patient in his eyes!
"H-help me, I am beaten by the royal guards! It was the first prince who ordered them to harm me.. P-please, h-help me! huhuhu," the youngster started to sob.
His words made Yu Zhe stiffened. Some nostalgic scenes on his memories started to replay in his head.
"W-water, please give me water," the youngster continued to cry and slowly raised his hand.
Yu Zhe's face turned serious and grabbed the hand then pulled the youngster from the floor. "What are you crying?! You are not injured!" he emphasized.
How could Yu Zhe understand the boy? He had not known him yet! Perhaps, if the boy had introduced himself as the ninth prince of the ADVEA Empire, the physician would gave consideration to his fragile feelings?
Startled by the sudden force that grabbed him, the youngster opened his eyes and stared at Yu Zhe in confusion. "Who are you?"
"I am your savior!" Yu Zhe grinned and sat comfortably on the sofa. His eyes wandered all over the place with a hint of satisfaction on his face.
"Savior? AHH! Oh, yes. You have saved me! Thank you! Those royal guards were instructed by the first prince to dispose of me! Luckily, I am still alive! Thank you! How can I repay this debt of life?" the youngster quickly offered a customary bow to Yu Zhe.
"Hmmn, I just arrived in this empire and I am not familiar with the places yet. Based on what you said, you are someone with a high status of this empire, arent you?" Yu Zhe asked the boy.
"I do not have a high status but I have a title. I am the ninth prince of this empire. But I am not favored," the youngster admitted.
"Ninth prince," Yu Zhe muttered while staring blankly at the space.
The boy gave him a strange look seeing that he was caught in a deep trance.
"Hmmn, then you are a prince. That is an esteemed status," Yu Zhe slightly shook his head and cast a wary glance at the youngster.
"Savior, what is your name? I am called Wouxin Fuo," the youngster enthusiastically said. He wiped the tears in his eyes and does not look in pain anymore.
"Wouxin Fou, I am called Yu Zhe, I practiced medicine. Since your brother wants to dispose of you, what are your plans? Don't worry about the medical fee, there is not much that I did other than carry you inside my place."
The youngster's face brightened after hearing the generosity of his savior. He did not bother to conceal his deep admiration as he stared at Yu Zhe intently.
"I asked you if what are your plans? If you have nothing to do, you can just accompany me in this manor," Yu Zhe casually offered. Something in this boy must have moved his heart as he does not usually want any companions. He was an eccentric doctor but for some reason, he proposed to Wouxin Fou to stay in his place!
"Really? Then, I will stay in this place until I heal my injuries," Wouxin Fou jumped in excitement.
"Young boy, listen carefully, you have no injuries. Those minor bruises do not even hurt," Yu Zhe snickered and corrected the boy.
"Ahh, yes yes. Hehe, it's not really painful. By the way, my savior... where is this place?" Wouxin Fou asked.
'"Look at you, you just agreed to stay in a stranger's place without giving a second thought. You have no reservation and your recklessness would give you more trouble in the future! If a stranger would kidnap you and fed you to his beast, you'll die hopeless." Yu Zhe scolded.
"Hehehe, You are not a stranger. You are my savior. And I always dreamed to stay out of the royal palace. But, there is no place that would accommodate me because of the first prince's order. I am like a prisoner on the royal palace," Wouxin Fou narrated.
"Is it? Then, why don't you report this first prince to your father?" Yu Zhe furrowed his brows and scowled at the young boy.
"Hmmph! That is easy to say but the first prince is favored by my father more than me. He can easily deny his wrongdoings and my father would just believe him," Wouxin Fou bitterly answered.
