At the midnight,
the young woman in black colored strapless ball gown walked into the street with a man behind. Her black high heels matched with the purse color. Mara left the blazer in Oliver's car since she wanted to show her beautiful body.
Mara's steps stopped when her eyes met the door where two men in black suits were waiting in front of it like statues. It was the door which would lead to the party. The door where those men decide if you can go in or not. Oliver followed the young woman.
"Please show me your card" the man spoke as he looked down at the young woman who was trying to walk in. Mara awkwardly smiled as she looked up at the men. "Can't I just go in?" she questioned, acting like a pure kid.
Oliver furrowed his brows. This young woman said these men would let them in but now she was just asking for permission like a five years old kid. Who would let them in? The two men narrowed their eyes. "Get out" one of the men said coldly.
Making Oliver clenched his fists. He stepped forward, ready to beat the two men. But Mara's grabbed his hand and linked her arm with his. Causing Oliver to look down at her with widened eyes in surprise. His heart skipped a beat for a moment.
The way the young woman grabbed his arm and tightened her grip on his arm made Oliver's heart went insane for a second. The way she looked up at him and smiled at him as if she was going to protect him made Oliver's heart went crazy. "Here! The card which you were asking"
Mara handed the card.
She was just playing around to see if these two men let them in or not. But they did not until she showed the card. You might be wondering how Mara got that card. It was simple. Lila was the one who stole the card from Juliet Horper.
Lila broke into Micheal Jude's villa two days ago, disguising herself as a maid of the villa. She cleaned the Juliet Horper's room to find the card of masquerade ball. When she successfully found it, she copied everything and changed the name with MA.
The short name of Mara Athena. Oliver furrowed his brows. This young woman was unpredictable. He could not guess what she would do in next second. If she had the card then why did she act like a five years old kid just now?
The man narrowed his eyes and checked the card carefully. Then he looked up at the young woman who was smiling at him. "You can go in. Enjoy your time" the man spoke and opened the door. Mara and Oliver smiled in satisfaction.
The young woman took the card back from the man and put it in her purse. "When will you let my arm go?" Oliver questioned as they two stepped into the building. "You are my boyfriend right now. So stop whining like an old man"
Oliver's eyes widened.
"What?" he asked with furrowed eyebrows, not believing his ears. His eyes were shaking in disbelief. His heart was pounding loudly. The young woman spoke those words with a stone face as if she did not care. Her calm face was the main reason.
That unbothered face was the main reason why Oliver's heart was pounding and his face was flushing like tomato. "You heard me clearly. You have to pretend to be my boyfriend" Mara spoke without looking at the man. She just kept walking. "What do you mea-"
"Welcome to the Zillah" Before Oliver could finish his words, the girl's voice interrupted him. Mara looked at the girl who was wearing the red tight dress which revealed her thighs and breasts. Her face was covered under makeup and foundation. "I came here to play"
Mara said as she stared at the girl. When Oliver realized that they had arrived to the place, his eyes explored the place which was full with rich women and men. The strong alcohol smell and loud music made him frowned tightly.
There was a girl who was sitting on the man's lap while her eyes were empty. Those girls and boys were forced, their eyes held nothing. As if their souls were lost. Oliver frowned in displeasement. "Please follow me, Miss" the girl spoke with a smile.
But that smile was forced and obvious. Causing the young woman to raise her eyebrow. Oliver and Mara followed the girl. There were women who were treating the poor boys like dogs. Everything looked stinky. "I am going to save these girls and boys"
Mara whispered as Oliver nodded in agreement. "This is where you can play" The girl turned around and showed the table where young women and men were sitting with masquerade masks on. "Thanks.." Mara thanked the girl and sat down at the chair.
The men at the table stared at the young woman with affection in their eyes. Oliver furrowed his brows in displeasement. He sat beside the young woman, not paying attention to the women who were looking at him. His eyes were glaring at men who were staring at Mara.
Finding out their identities.
"Looks like you are the new one" one of the young women suddenly spoke as a smile appeared on her face. "Yes, nice to meet you all. The table is already full. We should start playing" Mara replied with a normal smile as the men stared at her.
No matter how much Mara covered her face, her perfect proportion red velvet lips were still luring the people. Those lustful eyes of men were making Oliver gritted his teeth in anger and displeasement. He wanted to gouge those eyes out if it was possible.
The two girls and one boy in black suits unpacked the poker. The young women and men straightened their backs, ready to play slyly. The poker game had started. "You can bet on jewelry now" the boy spoke as he held the the jewelries boxes. The rule was simple.
Players had to buy their favorite jewelries and bet on them. The winner would get every player jewelries. "Let the new girl choose first" one of the young women spoke with a smile. Mara raised her eyebrow and stared at the jewelries boxes.
Her honey brown fox eyes sparkled when the sight of daimond necklace fell in front her eyes. "I will buy it!" Mara pointed at the box with a smile. "You made a good choice" one of the young women said as she raised her upper lip in envy. She wanted that necklace honestly.
The men and women bought the jewelries. Like that Oliver's turn came. Everyone looked at him, waiting for him to choose. But Oliver furrowed his brows, not knowing what to do. Mara stared at him with a smile, telling him to choose quickly. "I will take that"
Oliver pointed at the diamond bracelet without hesitating since he did not know what to choose. "Why did you choose that bracelet? Isn't that for woman?" One of the man suddenly asked. Making Oliver to gulp. "Awwn.. my darling is so sweet. He chose that for me"
Mara stepped into the conversation.
Causing Oliver to sigh in relief. He nodded in agreement with the young woman. "Yes, that bracelet will look beautiful on my woman's wrist" Oliver said and pulled Mara's chair closer to him. Making Mara eyes widened in surprise. She did not expect that.
She never thought this tough and cold man would speak sweet words and act like a protective boyfriend. They surprised her. Mara chuckled lightly, brushing away the shock from her face. "Please forgive him. He is very protective"
Mara smiled and linked her arm with Oliver's. The people at the table rolled their eyes in annoyance. Oliver glared at the men who were looking at the young woman with lustful eyes as if they did not care if she had a boyfriend or not.
"That's so sweet! Now let's start the game" one of the young women impatiently spoke. Like that the game started. Mara looked at her cards as her face showed nothing. There was no smile nor a frown on her face. Making it hard for others to read her face.
Oliver who was clueless like a pure kid, looked at the young woman beside him. His eyes were asking for help. He did not know anything about poker. He only knew how to ride a motorcycle. Mara glanced at Oliver as her lips formed into a smile.
She winked at him, signaling him to follow her lead. Oliver could not help but nodded in understatement only. He did not know what this young woman was planning. He just could not tell what her plan was. Oliver returned his attention in game.
"Yes! I won!"
One of the young women shouted as a grin was seen on her face. Making others rolled their eyes and threw the cards onto the table in annoyance. Mara tilted her head, staring at the woman who was holding the diamond bracelet with a smirk.
That woman was mocking Mara obviously. Oliver frowned. "But isn't this boring?" The young woman suddenly spoke as she threw the cards onto the table, smiling with hidden meanings. The men and women furrowed their brows in confusion.
"What do you mean?" The woman who won the game asked. "How about playing with Juliet Horper's group? Think about it, we will bet all the money and jewelries. The winner can take everything" Mara stood up from the seat as she looked down at everyone.
"No, she always wins. I can't give my money to that old woman" one of the men spoke with a frown. Juliet Horper was famous in Zillah. She was the only person who never failed in poker. All the challengers lost the game if they ever tried to play with Juliet Horper.
"Well, how about this? I will play with Juliet Horper alone. You all can bet on who will win. If I lose the game, I will pay the double to everyone who betted on Juliet Horper" Mara's lips curved up into a smirk, making everyone hesitated.
"I am in" Oliver spoke and stood up from the seat. People at the table lowered their heads. Deciding on what to do quietly. "I will bet on Juliet Horper then" one of the young women raised her right hand, joining the game. When that woman started joining, others began to join.
"I also bet on Juliet Horper"
One of the men said and raised his hand. "Me too!" "Same here!" Everyone betted on Juliet Horper. They all were looking down on the young woman. "I bet on my woman" Oliver spoke coldly. Mara chuckled in satisfaction. "Great.. go find Juliet Horper and tell her about this"
The young woman said as the two girls and boy nodded in understatement. They three ran up to the second floor where VIP customers were playing. There was a woman with two boys beside her, enjoying the game with her group. "Mrs. Horper, someone wants to play with you alone"
The girls informed as Juliet raised her eyebrow in amusement. Her lips formed into a smirk. "Seems like I am going to be the main character tonight" Juliet laughed out loud in satisfaction as her friends chuckled. "Fine. Prepare the special table and call her to come"
Juliet said with a smirk as the two boys beside her, hugged her tightly unwillingly. They were doing it because they were forced to. "We understand" the three left the table and went down to the table where Mara was and informed. "I see.. Juliet Horper accepted it!"
Mara spoke.
